Since Gaunces opportunity will be based on his defensive play, I will assume he plays at least 1 season on the Wolves first. Jensen will fit right in as a offensive player no problem imo.

Booth can (frank) off. Did it look like a big vacation for Booth or what this season? Players who didnt play at least grouped together for skates etc... Booth turned the lockout into the best time of his life... I'm sure he cant wait til the next lock out...

I agree but Gaunce could win the 3 rd or 4 th line center from Manny next year.If not a year on the Wolves.

Are you really that dense? 5mil a year for Edler is a very good contract.

Look at your own barn bud. You pay stupid amounts of money for your AHL team and you have the stones to come in here and spew your crap. We know you are the system troll but come on.

Gillis doesn't evn have to get rid of Ballard. LTIR just like he has done in years past .Deal with it. Leafs suck

- VANTEL

I do believe that you said over 6mil let him go under 6 its a good deal and I agreed with you on that. Some people are trolls. Gillis looks pretty dam good right now. IMO

P.S I'm still recovering from the Schroeder cut He'll be back soon though. They have to give him a look this year. He's not going to develop much playing the in aHL. It's time he learns how things are done in the NHL. I thought they should have given Schroeder one game and Ebbett one and if Ebbett was the better player at least Schroeder gets soem experience and knows what he has to work on.
- Boinker

Ebbett and Schroeder should be both on the roster until Kesler returns. They didnt have to choose one over the other with all the holes. There's no reason to have 9 Dmen. I would waive Barker and send him down. If they lose him, it's not the end of the world.

When these back to backs are out of the way...I wouldnt be surprised to see Schroeder up already. AV usually waits 20 games to admit he made the wrong choices. Cant do that this season...

Vandermeer beat out Schroeder for a forward spot and he's on a two way with no recallable waivers anymore...
- boonerbuck

Vandermeer could have been claimed if he was sent down via waivers though, Schroeder couldn't.

- Boinker

He didnt say anything about 20 other players as well.

Pretty psyched for the game tonight. Sure our 2nd line is a mess, but so is Anaheim's bottom 9. Hiller was a mess last year, I wonder if he'll be back up to snuff with all the time off or if his health problems have wrecked him. Sure will be nice to get back to ignoring my wife for hockey!

As a centre I doubt it. AV will go with Lappy after Gillis gives him a contract at the request of AV.

If they play Gaunce on the wing like he is now, maybe.

I don't think it's quite as cut-and-dried as this. They weren't competing for the same forward spot/role.

Vandermeer is a utility guy—I doubt that they plan to use him as a forward often, but more that he has the ability to if they feel they need toughness, or if another forward goes down.

I do agree with you, though, about AV's decisions about young players. Really don't see why they need this many D up, and I figured JS earned a spot on the team, especially with the decimated 2nd line.

It's like he's making roster/personnel decisions just to raise eyebrows....

It is also possible AV wants his toughness. He was recomended bu the Canucks players who practiced with him at UBC. Maybe we might be surprised.

Enough with the Schroeder talk.

Yes he "should" be on te team, but maybe he was sent down for cap reasons.

If he wasn't going to play, isn't it better to have a 600K cap hit with the big club instead of a 1.1 mil one?

Victoria, actually.

I was out with the wife at a movie, and when I got home I saw the news and cut her off halfway through an important conversation shouting "they (frank)ing re-signed Edler, Woooo!"

She was none too happy.

Ahem, I already said that...

EDIT - the ducks are, by the way, 4-2-2 in their last 8 vs the Canucks (in Vancouver) and have not lost in regulation at Rogers Arena since March 2010.
