Not that I have anything against Chi Fla or Flyers, but I hope they all get their asses kicked today and realize they need a goalie. |

With Edler signing, #Canucks now have 12 players signed for next year with cap hit of $4 million or more. No other NHL team has more than 7
What he fails to mention is, most of ours are around the 4.6 to 5 mark, only 3 higher than 5 m. Other teams spend 6 and 7 + eat up most of their cap.
Backstom and OVies cap hit equals our top 4 Dmen. |

Vet solid signing by Gillis. The Canucks will have one of the best top 4 defense groups in the league for the next few years. Garrison - Edler and Bieksa - Hamhuis is pretty impressive.
Tonight's game may be a bit sloppy as both teams find their way. 5-3 Canucks. |

I don't expect the hockey to be good for at least a month, guys gotta get into game shape. |

I'm getting a bit tired of AV and not letting any youth have a chance. The players like Ebbett and Barker, Vandermeer aren't good enough to make other teams so how are they good enough to make ours. It's going to be a bit of a learning curve for the youth but if they never get the chance how are we supposed to know if they are going to be any good. |

I agree, but we are bringing on two young players. Kassian and Tanev . Next year hopefully three more and a longer training camp.
Christ I can't believe I was supporting AVs decision |

I think there were some cap implications with the decision, Schroeder didn't need to clear waivers. |

Are the Canucks at all aware there is a salary Cap next year, and if they do, are they aware its not 400 million?
Serious question. It seems ignored to the point I wonder if its actually something nobody is aware of.
I await your 1967's and sexual oriented insults as well as apologies for your teams cap mismanagment.
Yes, I know, the two buy outs will solve all the problems, except for the part where I know they wont. - systemtool
Uhhhh..... Awkwaaarrrdddd.... The Canucks have a lot of wiggle room. Let's say 3 million for the fourth line and 2.1 for a 6th and 7th defenseman so that leaves 4.1 cap space...... and if they're feeling really gitty they can buy out Booth and Go for Perry.....

I'm not expecting much tonight or even over the next few weeks. Most of the Canucks didn't play during the lockout so it'll take some time. That said, I think it might work to our advantage if we peak around the start of the playoffs, something we haven't been able to say in quite a while. |

Not to burst your bubble there Boinker but you're missing the 4th line and 3rd pairing D. Plus I could never see AV giving both Gaunce and Jensen and permanent place on the team next year.
Still, all manner of options exist to become cap compliant and we'll get it done. |

I think you will be surprised. It's not going to take long. the majority of the team has been together for 5-6 years now so the chemistry should come back pretty quick.
Teams with new coaches, new systems and new players are the ones that will suffer regardless of how much they have been playing. |

I thought your sensible side was was bang on. Just because all of our rookies aren't in the lineup this year doesn't mean we still don't have young players making a contribution. I would love to see Schroeder get a shot as well, but if it's only for 7 games (as Lefty and I are speculating) is it really worth it? |

For some reason the Canucks seem to have problems with the Ducks. Whoever is in net for us tonight is going to have to be great. Not being a downer, its only game one, I say 4-2 Ducks, Perry with the trick and Selanne with the other on the PP. Burrows and Raymond for the Nucks. - 1970vintage
