The Wings dont have a even strength shot against the blues almost half way through the game... Blues looking very scary. |

Holtby's having a bad outing against TB.
WSH could become more interested in Lou if neither Holtby or Nuevirth can take the reigns. |

What do you make of his comment that he doesnt see the Canucks carrying 9 dmen for very long?
Ballard trade maybe??? Barker waived? - chompsey
Injuries I'd wager. I've heard him say ages ago that with defenders, "you can't get enough of them". |

Thats not efficient management of players to wait for an injury.... |

I think he's on to something with this.
I'm still a fan of Gillis—he's a wizard with contracts—but some of his decisions lately go against the message and style of play he was preaching when he got here. - Fosco
Whats going on around here? Hell freezing over or something?

Never heard that. Yeah, that's a bit of a puzzler?
Honestly, unless Ballard comes out of the gate and plays the way Gillis expected when he traded for him, I'd rather the Canucks shed his salary than dump Barker.
Edler trade?

That sh!t style of stifling hockey they play is destroying the game. From a results perspective, I can see them doing what LA did. |

Tough to imagine anything else. Both Barker and Vandermeer are scratches tonight. |

I believe that was from his presser yesterday. Carrying 8 dmen makes more sense. Given the Canucks current situation, 9 does not......that or he expects Kesler back soon..... |

I'm kind of excited to see what Garrison brings us on the PP. If he can get his shot through consistantly and uses it often, he'll be a big difference. Even just on rebounds alone... which have rarely been there for our players willing to actually go to the net. |

It's funny, I wasn't on the site for most of the day, I check in, and I'm mentioned on several pages of this thread. So, if I were trolling, I'd say you guys are eating it up. - prock

He does possess a cannon, but so did Salo. In the end I feel somehow that he'll be judged by his ability to replace Salo effectively. Don't ask me why. |

...I'm hoping he replaces Ehrhoff's production actually. The Canucks only got 25 points out of Salo. Garrison already is a bit injury prone so I'm hoping thats not the comparison we end up making.

Garrison is a very solid D man. He's not very flashy but very solid, and he does have a pretty good shot. |

I'll think about that once Kesler starts to practice with the team and gets into scrims. He's still only skating right now and taking the odd shots on his own.

I'm more concerned with him being able to take some of the physical load off of Edler. Salo was a shadow of himself physically after he got injured.
By all accounts (and advanced stats, for those who find them valuable), Garrison is very capable defensively. |
