Re Schroeder, I still don't see how carrying him as an extra forward helps our offence if he doesn't get in the lineup. He's not going to replace anyone in the bottom 6, and if AV would rather go with Ebbett than Schroeder he's better off playing games in the AHL so that if we have an injury and need to call him up he hasn't been sitting around.

Personally, I think he deserves the spot over Ebbett based on their camps, and Schroeder's higher upside/potential. At the very least swap them in/out every other game for the first week or so and then make the decision which to send down. Neither would be sitting around for too long then.

Yup. Ebbett had a decent camp, too, so I'm not really pissed off at the choice, but considering the needs of the team and how well he played, I think Schroeder warranted a few games in the bigs to evaluate where he is.
