I think the East proved too hard for you also. Too much hometeam bias, not enough pepper.

The Isles will make the playoffs as a record 5 teams from the Atlantic get in

Come on, take time to think these things through. How can all 5 teams make it in a 48 game season when they play each other that many times?

One look at the Islander defense is all you need to tell you they will not make the playoffs. I love the Islanders and the future does look good especially when they get to Brooklyn but the playoffs are not happening this year.

As far as 'surprising-prediction' projected standings goes, this one seems relatively plausible.

I can just go along with everyone else and pick the obvious, but when is the obvious ever the case in an 82 game season? Top it off with an unpredictable 48 game season, and there's going to be a lot of changes to what people expect. Hell 11-15 can make the playoffs if the season starts off right for them.

Yeah, it's all plausible. But it's also different from the norm (Flyers, Rangers, and Pens 1-4-5, Capitals winning division, etc.). Everyone's predicting the same thing, or close to it.

I'd be willing to be that either the Pens, Rangers, or Flyers don't make the playoffs this year. Each team, while solid, has it's flaws, and if the flaws are exposed or really hurt them, they'd have to recover real quick. Keeping the Devils out of this, but they can certainly miss the playoffs with their lackluster forward depth and scoring.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Both different from the norm, and plausible.

Good job!

I get the Islanders one, but what's the big deal about Carolina in 3rd? Definitely plausible, and might wind up happening.

the addition of staal is a good one, the addition of Semin could go either way, ward is still pretty solid, but the carolina D is not so hot.

top 6 fowards are good, bottom six are like leafs from last few years.

Why would the Habs replace Therrien when they are in dire needs of establishing consistency within the organization? I predict he will be there for 5yrs minimum.

Some of these are just so dumb. Predicting a Cam Ward injury?

Christ, I wish someone would recognize the Leafs as a good team. They are going to destroy Montreal tonight and they are going to make the playoffs. Not just in eighth either.

Oh, and if the Devils start the season 8-0-2 I will buy season passes for 50 people.
