He's 23. If you look at the 2008 Draft, Doughty, Bogosian, Pieterangelo, Karlsson, Gardiner, Del Zotto, and Carlson were in that class. All these players are currently light years ahead of Schenn in their development. Hopefully Luke can close the gap this year.

Really tough to make those comparisons. Most of those defenseman are mobile offensive puck moving defenseman. People just want to gloss over that L. Schenn was pretty much Toronto's best defenseman as a 21 year old. There is a lot to be said for that. Young defenseman's development is rarely linear. It is typical ups and downs. And a lot of it is mental. Schenn has a lot of physical tools. His biggest problem is his lack of mobility. Experience in positioning and reading plays can overcome that. All players develop at their own pace.
