I think Frolik might stand in for an entire team that is very determined to erase the last few years. The guy scored 20 goals two years in Florida, he is a hard worker, a skilled player, and somebody who is just a whole lot better than his stats in Chicago would lead one to believe. And I think the same goes for the whole team. We'll see how long it lasts, but I think Crawford has a good year, Kane is growing up (and I have not been his biggest fan since he came to Chicago) and has a good year . . . . Same goes for Keith, who has not been great for two years. Bickell is in a contract year, Carcillo has been hurt, Hossa and Toews hurt . . . . The stars might be aligning for a very good year for the Blackhawks.

Frolik definitely deserves a shot.

I think with the condensed schedule, rolling 4 effective lines will be key this year to mitigate wear and tear. Should also help overcome injuries.

Very good opening game:

1. Hossa...great to see him playing and healthy....monstor game.

2. PK and PP much better, great 5 on 3.

3. C2 was Ok not really tested but good start.

4. Forecheck and back check was there the whole game.

I'm in Calgary visiting some friends and same thing here! Switched to the Philly and pit game! I have pit on my sports select ticket so I have some weighted interest in that game. Speaking of sports select, what a great idea! I am definitely in favor of bringing that back home with me.

Kruger's move and pass to Frolik were flat out amazing...and his back check when he saved a very good scoring chance for the Kings was perfect!! The kid was battling along the boards,played good d,good o...just wish he could win his faceoffs...this team is in dire need of another player that can win more than 50% of faceoffs...
Hoss looked good...I thought Hammer was good too, Oduya made some nice moves and had sam bad ones, but overall I thought the D looked good...
Pp was good,not great, but they totally crapped their pants on one of the pp's,zone entry was just awful...unless Hoss or Kane bring the puck up it seems like the Hawks are screwed...but they had a lot of movement when they entered the zone etc...Crow was...meh...Would like some more grit on this team,but first gimme a good faceoff winner and a god goalie
