Only half of one period in, but both special teams looked much better. |

Ok, now let's pot 3 or 4 on them while they still have visions of Lord Stanley dancing in their head.

It is only the 1st game and teams usually have a let-down after they raise the banners but you can see teams will have trouble matching the depth of this team. This team looks like it will be able to roll 4 solid lines. A huge advantage anytime but especially in a season like this |

As long as Q plays them, think that can be a very effective 4th line with Bollig.

I think someone told Frolik that the playoffs have already started. Same with Bickell, good effort from both. Shaw starting off with a bad penalty only really bad thing from that first period. |

Great start...boys look good. Rozsival the odd man out. Tazer looking great...nice goal by Kaner. Kruger with a sweet dish to Fro. Hawks put 3 by the Conn Smythe winner...
Carcillo showing great restraint after a post whistle clash with Nolan. Call on Shaw was horse dung. L.A. ferocious with the body, but we lead 3-zip. Crawford with a shutout through 1, but still looks slow and shaky. Ohhhhhhh boy. |

Hawks need to keep their foot on the pedal in this one. Get another goal or two and LA will start thinking about their next game. If they let up, this game will get close again. |

Exactly. I'm really interested in seeing how these lines shake out. Rolling 4 capable lines (finally) could be huge this year...well, along with competent special teams...
Gotta say, Bolland and Sharp are seem to be showing some signs of rust thus far, though in that respect, they certainly have plenty of company throughout the NHL right now. |

Honestly the third has looked like our least effective line so far. Seems like minutes are getting divided pretty evenly so far which is good news. Crawford hasn't looked great, lets see if he shakes some rust off. Outside of the obvious guys, not a lot of hits by the hawks. They are doing a good job of physically engaging though. |

Ill be the last guy to defend Bow JR but JT missed 23 games and that had a huge physical as well as Psych effect on our team. Even JT will admit he was still rusty and under the effect of his injury even though he played in the playoffs.
But we still get moved off the puck way too easily even as i watch opening night vs the kings...the deficiencies 2nd Line Center not withstanding are still evident
but I agree with most of what you posted |
