Obviously, but I think Crow looked wayyyyyy better than Razor. He certainly isn't top tier, but can he be niemi, yes. But it doesn't matter if we are still too soft to score when it counts - rollpards19
Everyone (me included) was touting the Hammer or Leddy for an Ottawa goalie. Do you do that trade now? I thought Hammer played great these past two games but I can't see losing him. Maybe Leddy if Clendening can take his spot? |

I didn't get to see much of the game but I did see one play that really said a lot to me. It was early in the game w/ Saad on the forecheck, puck in the corner. Rather than going in and taking the body on the guy he pulls up about two feet away then eases into him. I've seen more aggressive play in my no-check league. That's gonna have to change if he wants to stick at an NHL level. But if they can teach Kane to do that, they can probably teach Saad to do it. - Walky
I wouldn't judge Saad on that one play.. I thought he played well on the forecheck and made some nice passes throughout the game to set up some scoring chances.
My god was Ray Charles bad in net tonight!
Loving that Kane-Bolland-Sharp line though |

I wasn't particularly excited by Clendening when I saw him with Rockford. Still, if we could net a top notch goalie, I would be tempted, even though Leddy and Hammer both look pretty good so far. |

To be honest I was on board with that, but Leddy looks a little bigger and more confident and Hammer has been superb (carrying Oduya who looks really rusty) our D depth could be a real strength if Rosival can continue to be solid. I go back and forth on Leddy. He's not great, but its tough to give up on that skating and already gained experience at 21. But I'd give Crow till the deadline, or close to it |

don't think ottawa is tradin any of those goalies right now. and are any of them an absolute upgrade from crawford? i don't think andersson could lead us to the promised land, the other 2 haven't even played 50 games combined in the league! when you are built to win NOW you go for a top 5 goalie, especially now with the new language being added to the CBA as far as getting the team to pay some of the freight. |

Just saw the overhead replay of Bolland's pop up goal...Smith had a bead on it, looked like he would probably catch it, and then Lombardi tries to swat the puck out of mid-air but knocks Smith's glove instead
Makes me wonder if Smith was mad at himself, or Lombardi...either way, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Smith lose his mind - Ogilthorpe2
What Smith has been most of his career is a very ordinary goaltender who throws in his POS theatrics trying to influence the zebras. He's absolutely nothing outside of Tippett's system.
The Coyote's stink. In about 3 weeks they will have about 800 fans in the stands watching. |

Robin Lehner is the guy I want. But Stan would have to write down on a sheet of paper a few names for Bryan Murray - like Danault, Toivenen, McNeill, Clendening, Leddy and be prepared to give up a couple of them. Now what do you think the chances of him doing that? Less than squat I say. And Rocky won't be volunteering to sign Roberto's cheques anytime soon either. |

that's why we'll probably see exactly the same 2 goalies we have for most of the season. hawks ain't givin up a boat load of prospects nor will they take on a 3rd loooong term contract. what has to happen? if leddy or hammer plus 1 of the young plums go that way then more than lehner has to be coming back this way, and i don't mean a throw in either.
as far as Lu, the canucks will have to make a baseball type deal with the hawks or anybody. something like, "you pay 2/3rd's of lu's salary, we'll send you a plum ( a youngin not named mcneill or dangault back to you.)
with that, i'm out for the night..... we ain't gettin Lu ,Lehner or who ever anytime soon! |

Saw this on the Boo-Yah network website:
The only Phoenix Coyote who got a louder ovation than goalie Mike Smith and captain Shane Doan during the pregame ceremonies in Phoenix was Raffi Torres, who was dressed in his uni for the introductions but was still sitting out his 21-game suspension levied for his crushing (and illegal) hit that knocked Marian Hossa from last season's playoffs. Hossa was in the lineup for the rematch and his scoring prowess thus far is surely a big reason for the Blackhawks' strong start.
Stay classy Phoenix... |

Bolland having a heck of a game. Btw Saad sure goes unnoticed on the ice. For such a hyped prospect, I haven't seen anything special about this guy that stands him out. He's done a few little things today, but overall very underwhelming for the constant hype from the PR machine - Wowo2282
Disagree. His positional play is at the NHL level for sure. Had some excellent passes. Very strong on his skates. Had a brilliant redirection that was barely saved. Showed a crazy burst of speed in the 3rd period.
Another few games of settling in should be pretty telling. |

Doan is an absolute piece of garbage. That guy sucks. Aside from his classless whoring around the country talking to other teams is is a vile character on the ice.
Smith was the Smith Dallas and Tampa know and love.
Frolik went right back to not being able to make a pass and missing open cages. Kruger is a player though and someone else needs to figure it out at the dot. Bollig fits into his role really well.
Really really really really like the way Q is managing the lines. They are doing a brilliant job keeping players fresh and the forecheck / penalty kill make me happy happy happy.
Hossa is beyond unstoppable right now and Kane isn't too far behind him. Those guys are on a mission and it is something to see.
Another goalie would be nice. Preferably a competent one.
The Ice Hogs brawl was crazy. Carter Hutton is a boss.
Bowman looking super smart after two games. Except for the goalie thing. |

Boy, winning cures all ills, huh? Hjammer looked awesome at some points and the D depth is great. I expect to see Mayers get a start Tuesday jn place of either Bollig or Frolik. Hawks still need someone to win some draws.
But for all the Q bashing we've all done the last few months, he is doing a great job with the lines, and more importantly with the d. When was the last time Duncs played under 23 minutes in consecutive games? Leddy right where he should be at 15. Oduya led the team?! He was a little rusty and served a real pizza on that tweener backhand in the third, but he chewed up important minutes. 2/7 playing around 24 minutes a night will be a big deal for this team. Q ssems to trust 32 and 27. For now.
Still wish krugs could center the third and the hawks could get another guy to win faceoffs and play physically on the fourth line....a younger mayers [*record skips, reset needle*] |

Shane Doan is a piece of dog poop and a COWARD. He could have played anywhere but went back to Phoenix because of the low expectations . He cant handle the big lights. What a turd.
I loved how Bolland was in his head all night . |

I agree Emery looks terrible. I cringe on every shot. I like the Defence as is so maybe Hutton deserves a back up role
I would ride Crawford as far as possible because after watching Emery and Smith last night Crawford looks awful good
Keep shopping Bowman because Emery was a bad signing
Can you believe the Canucks leave the Sundins on the bench for the shoot out last night? Insane

steve, especially a top 5 goalie named Roberto. sh it, he'd be joey's best customer at Tufano's on a regular basis.
no one thought probert or danny carcillo would ever wear the indianhead, Mr McMarket is all over this 1 behind the scenes. the 1st 2 games we scored a good amount of goals but watch what happens if we piss up a fair amount of leads & games early on by letting up soft ass goals! - wonthecup10
