Thanks ...I agree

I didnt think he deserved the Norris a few years ago as the turnovers are too frequent

Doan is out of his mind. the guy was offered major cash to leave Phx and declined. What an idiot.
- Lido_Shuffle

That was part of the sale condition - he had to stay. Why doesn't anyonr understand that!

This team Might be OK if they keep playing like this...a true #1 goalie would help too.

That's the start we were looking for...balanced scoring...good ice time management...can't wait to see the boys in the Reds Tuesday night.
- philco28

Yup, life is good. Hawks 2-0; Flyers, Rangers and Canucks 0-2; Red Wings and Canadiens heading down the porcelain pony this season.

That wouldn't happen if Scott and O'D were still on the team.

If the top guys can keep it up and Stalberg, Bickell, Kruger all stay at a high level there's a chance they won't need it

From what I understand was that Doan was waiting to see if the sale was going through before he signed. The sale wasn't conditional on Doan staying.

Just think how much better they would play if they had some confidence in their goalie

This "we appreciate our fans and we're giving sh*t away" commercial just p*sses me off. Four executives in the final shot? Really?? McD's ego knows no bounds. Just goes to show you who's important--and Quenville isn't one of them.

Though I do love Seab's red kicks. Classic.

Believe what you want - but he knew if any sale was to take place he was going to have to stay.

steve, especially a top 5 goalie named Roberto. sh it, he'd be joey's best customer at Tufano's on a regular basis.
no one thought probert or danny carcillo would ever wear the indianhead, Mr McMarket is all over this 1 behind the scenes. the 1st 2 games we scored a good amount of goals but watch what happens if we piss up a fair amount of leads & games early on by letting up soft ass goals!

Why? He wasn't being held hostage. He could have gone elsewhere if he wanted to.

Great game! Love the way we've responded so quickly after scores twice in a row (Hossa yesterday, Bolland today). Emery looked very lost and and has to perform better in a season like this where he'll be called upon in back-to-backs. Lines are looking really good, especially 10-36-88. Home opener on Tuesday against the Blues. Let's keep it going!

Exactly, they need to trust their goalies and these 2 don't inspire it. I really worry about Tuesday. This is the kind of game we lose over the last few years. We just had 2 huge road wins against good teams, we are playing the 1st home game of the season with a rowdy madhouse, the hawks should come out flying and ready. I bet they come ou flat, though. Only hope is usual St. Louis being cheap and scoring on the pp

Obviously, but I think Crow looked wayyyyyy better than Razor. He certainly isn't top tier, but can he be niemi, yes. But it doesn't matter if we are still too soft to score when it counts

I didn't get to see much of the game but I did see one play that really said a lot to me. It was early in the game w/ Saad on the forecheck, puck in the corner. Rather than going in and taking the body on the guy he pulls up about two feet away then eases into him. I've seen more aggressive play in my no-check league. That's gonna have to change if he wants to stick at an NHL level. But if they can teach Kane to do that, they can probably teach Saad to do it.

Just saw the overhead replay of Bolland's pop up goal...Smith had a bead on it, looked like he would probably catch it, and then Lombardi tries to swat the puck out of mid-air but knocks Smith's glove instead

Makes me wonder if Smith was mad at himself, or Lombardi...either way, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing Smith lose his mind

Wonder why Rocky is not in the commercial thanking the fans along with the players?

I think they'll come out flying but messy. They'll be all hopped up on the energy from the crowd and won't be focused...unless things have changed from the last 2 years.

I would rather have one of the ottawa young goalies since it lookslike they may have to keep lou. The only good thing is with the new collective bargaining agreement the hawks could probably get vancouver to pay some of his salary

Foley's stat: first time since 1996 they've started 2-0; if they win Tuesday, first time since 197? They will have starte 3-0.

Hardly seems possible....
