He's 4'0", doesn't hit, doesn't shoot the puck, is terrible on the draw, had 0 goals 5 on 5 last year, 2 on the PP (which I doubt he would get time on in Anaheim). I just don't see what benefit you think he would bring other than experience, which frankly, doesn't guarantee you wins. - 1970vintage
1) he's 5'11 which is average in the league
2) Montreal was playing poopty systems when he was here and not using him to the best of his free wheeling abilities. If he had been making $4M a year, no one would hate him THIS much. |

If you can afford his $6.4m cap hit this year, and the $10m in actual salary you have to pay him (not to play), and its the "systems" fault for his poor performance why buy him out? You have a new coach, and presumably a new super terrific system. I certainly don't hate him, but face the facts, he's over paid at league minimum compared to who else you could have in your lineup. |

Its gonna be funny when Gomez gets a job somewhere in the NHL and nets 10-15g and 25-35 points. |

Hearing he's heading to the retirement home that is the San Jose Sharks. Just as well, he'll fit right in there. |

Because we don't have the cap space and can dump the horrible contract.
Look, I'm loving that he's gone, but if we could re-sign him for $1M I'd be up for it in a heartbeat. He'll get at least 50 points in a season at least one more time before he retires. |

No more pressure of being the 5th highest paid player in the nhl........ I can see it happening. |
