I'm imagining you looking like this as you wrote this post.....

I wouldn't wear a flower like that, he has it on the wrong lapel, and his tie knot is horrible.

You kids today. You just don't get it. You are all so soft, with your mommies and daddies driving you everywhere, all buckled in for safety.

Why in my day...

The pale ale usually have some hopes to them, but its definitely better to visit a brew store and by the hop pellets, then add them as liberally as you want.

Another trick with them is that you can chem on a half of a hop pellet, which allows you to drink cheap beer and have it taste decent

haha I should tell that to my buddy who buys the beer for our hockey team. As he says "only the finest cheapest beer for my boys"

It works surprisingly well!!!

For decent cheap beer, the President's choice dry is surprisingly drinkable, as is the bowen island lager from BC (and at 24 for $24, I can't argue. Keeps my poor student ass drunk and yet not bankrupt!)

Go for long shots. Too much unpredictability and proline has a tendency to hand out ignorant odds in the first couple of weeks.

yeah good point actually...very emotional home opener after the lockout, a sense of high stakes because of the shortened season, the fans should be into it

I wonder which teams will try to put on too much of a show for the fans and falter because of that. I'm liking the Habs for a team that will fall into this trap, personally. Actually I'm going to bet on a tie for the Leafs vs. Habs, these teams go to OT all the time.

Hockey is freaking hard to handicap now, I'm looking at the odds and I'm surprised at some of the favourite odds, because a lot of these teams are very close

that's kind of what I'm thinking too, I like the underdog odds on a few games between teams that really are pretty evenly matched

They always do that. In two weeks, something magical will happen and they'll bring it down to normal.

I was at a friends house a month ago, one of those health nuts, and he had Mooseheads Cracked Canoe. It was surpringly good despite its pussification. I was shocked.

Very emotional.

There are 16 Leafs in tonight's lineup who are dedicating this game to the memories of their dead girlfriends, whom they never met or even talked to on the phone.

It was even good to see the scalpers outside the Bell Centre working on their Hockey Related Revenue.

those guys have alot of old tickets that were issued pre lockout this year.. be wary as hell when buying something off a scalper this year.

Hello out there! We're on the air,
It's Hockey Night tonight;
Tension grows, the whistle blows,
And the puck goes down the ice.
The goalie jumps, and the players bump,
And the fans all go insane;
Someone roars, "Bobby scores!"
At the good old hockey game.

Oh! The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

[spoken] "Second period...."
Where players dash with skates a-flash,
The home team trails behind;
But they grab the puck and go bursting up,
And they're down across the line.
They storm the crease like bumble bees,
They travel like a burning flame;
We see them slide the puck inside,
It's a one-one hockey game.

Oh! The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

[spoken] "Third period! Last game in the playoffs, too!"
Oh, take me where the hockey players
Face-off down the rink;
And the Stanley Cup is all filled up,
For the champs who win the drink.
Now the final flick of a hockey stick,
And the one gigantic scream:
"The puck is in" - The home team wins
The good old hockey game!

Oh! The good old hockey game,
Is the best game you can name;
And the best game you can name,
Is the good old Hockey game!

Yep. Not bad.

Good beer if you need to drink after your hockey game and drive home.
