She has the beer side down pat (we make our own beer and wine). German food is surprisingly good, though maybe thats just because its about 90% meat??

Cool, yeah I brew a bit too, not as much lately but it's fun. Got some German background too so I dig the shnitzel and sausage and stuff.

i am a lil concerned defensively.. but the leafs are going to be a puck possession team this year.. thats their strength, if these guys get hemmed into their own zone it could get ugly
- Dozzer

Agreed, I'm also kinda hoping they start Scrivens. If they start Reimer and he poops the bed it will be bad, but I think starting Scrivens will keep everyone a little more sane if he falters

Im only making it worse by doing this, and what im about to post below is from two years ago, but this says alot about his speed. (in case anyone thought all he could do is ball bust)

At age 24, Komarov currently sits second on his Moscow Dynamo team in scoring (total points and goals), and recently finished second in the fastest skater competition during the 2011 KHL Skills Competition.

I agree, we're getting too excited for a projected agitator and 3rd liner. Its opening night though, so its impossible to temper emotions right now. When youre a Leaf fan, even the tiniest glimmer of hope is magnified into something the size of a large planet.

It's perfect comfort food. As for beer, right now we have a chocolate cherry stout on the go, as well as a wheat/IPA hybrid that we've christened "Golden hopportunity"

I agree, having to choose between the two. That said, they play 5 games in 8 nights, so both better be ready regardless of who starts tonight. Bad start and im biting my nails picturing Nonis putting Gillis at the top of his speed dial list.

IF we have last year's Kessel line

IF Mac and the USSR play like two years ago (Kuli sure seems to have gotten sorted out in the KHL, these guys have been playing with good players in russia and will hit the ice flying) and

IF added to that this new third line is a major upgrade over the guys that just got shipped out (not hard to imagine)

This team will be a bigger pain in the balls to play than what I've seen most of the pundits saying

IF Reim/Scrivs/Lu/Palmateer can string together mere AVERAGE goaltending instead of BRUTAL, this team totally is a playoff darkhorse

It basically looks as though we have our next Tucker.

I can't (frank)ing wait to see him agitate the (frank) out of the Habs!

scrivens is in mid season form.. it only makes sense.

but.. not starting reimer might be hurt his confidence as well.

tough call there.

the leafs are the only team that did not make the post season during the last CBA

there's no company where we're standing.. think kessel at the all star selection draft two years ago.. that pretty much sums the leafs up in the last CBA

Oh man you got some interesting beers going. What's your set-up?

Last one I did was a real straight-up czech lager, came out pretty much a clone of Pilsner Urquell

I know its a petty issue, but I would love to add Komarov and make it a USSR line. I could see those three feeding off of each other. Mac with Kadri and JVR wouldnt be too shabby, but they could use the physicality of Komarov more than the second line unfortunately.

Agree with everything you said.

Should be interesting. Habs added Armstrong and Prust, so they got a bit tougher.

Still the smallest team in the leaue though I believe.

Right now we just do the kits and add to them as we need. With 12 carboys, 3 corny kegs and a kegerator, we can have quite a bit on the go however. We're looking into getting a grain mill so that we can make from scratch.

We also have a czech lager next in line for brewing. I'm pretty damn excited!

Yea...no kidding.

Him and JVR out in a collision. Markov destroys a knee carrying off Armstrong. And the season begins.
