Say what u want about leino in buffalo leaf fans but that connolly signing looks as bad as the kessell trade now - 3sabrfns
Dumbest post on hockeybuzz ever.
Connolly is off the books this year and never once did his cap hit get in the way of us doing anything.
Leino, well I hope for your own sake he plays better than he did last year because he will be there for a while.
Better luck with the trolling next time pal, that was a fail |

what would it take to O'Reilley from Colarado? - dmnted
Gotta lure him back to the NHL first.
Likely gotta give up some players you dont want to, then give him a contract he doesnt deserve yet

Last year, he was one of the few players who was giving an honest effort every single game. He's 25, he's torn apart the AHL, there's nothing left for him to do but be in the NHL.
Did he have a bad camp? Yeah but it's a week camp. And camp doesn't tell the whole story.
What I'm saying is, cut the kid some slack, he deserves a shot especially if the only thing in his way is Colton Orr. They finally gave Kadri the shot, keep Frattin with him.
Hopefully he's back by February. Or earlier. - Two_For_Truth
Frattin wasnt up against orr. Hes not a fourth line player. Probably more in the 2nd/ 3rd line range. I guess orr isnt really a 4th liner either. More of a boxer than anything. |

So I guess it is now safe to say BB wanted Luongo and his boss didn't... - fidopro
It's now safe to admit BB's firing had nothing whatsoever to do with Luongo |

Thornton played 81 games, >9mins a night. Would LOVE him on our 4th. Could only be so lucky as to be able to play Orr that much, but just don't see it. He may shock us, we'll see, but I doubt it.
Still, I'm behind him. Leafs NEED a guy who can fight AND play hockey. - Big_Lightnin
Orr had 1 goal in his first 5 games. Dupuis went 30 games without one.
Orr has LETHAL hands in close to the net.
I predict 5 goals from the second best Orr of all time . |

Ya I think it was probably a Frattin, Komorov, Kadri battle.
It is very probable that there will be an injury eventually and Frattin should be the first call up. At that point he gets his chance to prove he can stay. I like the earn your spot and actually mean it mentality |

That's kind of missing the point...Nonis probably wants Luongo too, but like Burke, doesn't want him at the price Gillis is asking for. Fair enough. - p_zub

whoa whoa whoa, stop right there. You're scaring me with that. They can keep O'Reilly if that is what you think it would cost. |

Kadri played center all week at camp, has played center for most of the Marlies season. Was never really a battle with them. As long as he didn't stumble, Kadri was getting 3rd line C this year, finally. |

Not nessicarly. Mike Gillis was on our local radio station today saying the Leafs are still very interested in Luongo but He's not willing to move Lou cuz the asking price was too low.
If you guys falter out the gate an go somewhere along the lines of 2-5 through your first seven games. I bet Gillis' phone will start ringing again with a different offer. - vancity787

Ya fair enough. So then it was probably him and Komorov fighting for the 3rd line role. I guess Orr was in that battle too. If Orr wasn't good they could have put Frattin on the 3rd line and moved Komorov to the 4th.
Hey who knows, maybe Orr got good at hockey? |

Explain why...apparently Gardiner and Bozak would have been enough of a starting point for your "all-star goalie". - p_zub
In today's NHL (IMO) Benn has more value than Lu. You might get Lu for Gardiner and Bozak but it wouldn't be close to get you Benn. Contract hit, age, and future potential put Benn above Lu.
In a realistic trade situation, Dal knows that the leafs want to get younger and build a core around size and skill. I would be asking more than the leafs have to offer.
Again, just my opinion. |
