Lupul, Bozak Mac are pending ufa.... if they arent signed and they are out of the playoff race at the deadline they are trade bait. - burn
Could be a really good year for "sellers". tight schedule will keep most teams in the race so those few "seller" teams should be in the cat-bird seat. |

So , just to be clear, a bunch of dudes are sitting around the internet in the middle of the day critisizing a super hot chick because she could potentially get fat and her tits are too far apart? That is sad for so many reasons. NOt the least of which is that it has nothing to do with hockey. - Aquaman_2400

I'd like them to keep Lupul at reasonable money, assuming he performs, and I have full confidence he will. Like it if he could play all 48 games too. but if they can get a 1st and a prospect for him, might have to deal, if no contract has been signed. - Big_Lightnin
it all depends on getting him signed... cant afford to lose for nothing. |

If you've watched the Marlies lately, you know he hasn't earned it. He isn't playing well enough to get called up right now. He will, but he isn't there now. - Big_Lightnin
I fully expect him to go down and go lights out.
If he does, and they still leave him there, then by all means, rant away.
Odds are he's back up by February. - Big_Lightnin
Last year, he was one of the few players who was giving an honest effort every single game. He's 25, he's torn apart the AHL, there's nothing left for him to do but be in the NHL.
Did he have a bad camp? Yeah but it's a week camp. And camp doesn't tell the whole story.
What I'm saying is, cut the kid some slack, he deserves a shot especially if the only thing in his way is Colton Orr. They finally gave Kadri the shot, keep Frattin with him.
Hopefully he's back by February. Or earlier. |

If he has a good first month or two does he get to demand more than Zajac? I think so... Maybe bigger $$ and a little less term. 6 milly 5 years?? |

That's kind of missing the point...Nonis probably wants Luongo too, but like Burke, doesn't want him at the price Gillis is asking for. Fair enough. |

Not nessicarly. Mike Gillis was on our local radio station today saying the Leafs are still very interested in Luongo but He's not willing to move Lou cuz the asking price was too low.
If you guys falter out the gate an go somewhere along the lines of 2-5 through your first seven games. I bet Gillis' phone will start ringing again with a different offer. |

I don't hate the idea of Orr as the 13th fwd and parachuting him in when they play teams with heavyweights ...Boston uses Thornton, Philly uses Shelley, Rags use Rupp and Bickel, Sabres are carrying John Scott, Canes use Westgarth ....etc...
Looks like most teams are anticipating a rough and tumble 3 month schedule.
Frattin will be back up soon and we'll all get to waive buhbye to David "but what about face-offs" Steckel. - The Law
Thornton played 81 games, >9mins a night. Would LOVE him on our 4th. Could only be so lucky as to be able to play Orr that much, but just don't see it. He may shock us, we'll see, but I doubt it.
Still, I'm behind him. Leafs NEED a guy who can fight AND play hockey. |

um... the question was "there's a report the Leafs are OUT of the running" to which his response was "I don't care."

Love Thornton ...huge impact in that Canuck Cup series. He allowed guys like Marchand and Ference and Campbell to be wieners ...he challenged meatheads like Bieksa and Torres ...and made room for everybody. Parros did the same for the Ducks. This game still depends upon some intimidation.
Not sure Orr brings that anymore ....we'll find out soon though. Looking forward to seeing the impact it'll have on the games of Komarov and Brown. |
