Man those Vancouver mods sure get pissy when the Nucks lose. After multiple posts slamming the Leafs and other teams (following the loss to LA) I responded in kind. I was told by the mod to "get out so as not to incite a riot". I responded that clearly it took less than me posting to start a riot. One week ban for my troubles - lumlums
last week some vancity fan said It's Hockey Not World War 3 and I posted a picture of the vancouver riots....banned.
Man, I think you're a fukn tool if ya don't believe it ... Name me the last big Toronto name that left our team, and did something, somewhere, anywhere in the league? Grabovski would be the same deal anywhere else ... I realize you're probably dusting off your Kaberle/Tucker/Gustavsson jersey for tomorrow night ... And are shopping EBay for a new Reimer/Gardiner one to go along with them ... But our players are nothing but hype. - KaceTy
you just make poop up as you go..with no basis for it.
you twist stuff to make your argument sound better, but you are so full of poop, its impossible to comprehend.
you think trading 5 first round picks for Benn is a smarter move than signing Getzlaf as a Free agent...

I am going to ignore the insults and proceed as this was a friendly exchange. Benn is 4 years younger then, I was too lazy to google it. My point remains the same. Benn is worth the offer sheet. I beleive this guy is a super star. I believe Getzlaf is not the player he was and I don't know why but I suspect its because he is a billionaire whose one everything he can at a young age that he's the new Lecavelier. If it was a guarentee that Getzlaf would be a Leaf as a UFA I would say sure, it beats paying 5 firsts for Benn, but I don't think Getzlaf is had for free. You'd have to trade for him and then resign him. Anaheim won't lose him for nothing. So in reality, if you consider Getzlaf is going to cost a lot no matter what, then yeah Benn is the better choice.

well first off, in leaf history what we do here is we trade youth for guys who have 1-2 years left.
and ive had a phaneuf jersey since trade day.
i love that you think grabovski is not worthy of a 2nd line center, that just shows how much hockey knowledge you dont have. have you watched any games in the last 2 years or just your brothers minor bantom games?
I must confess I've only watched about 20 minutes of it in total, but what really struck me was they were acting for the camera.
Don't get me wrong, they are very good at it, but I just hope people don't think that reality show is actual reality.
It's getting pretty weird now that the reality shows are creeping towards shows like the Office and Trailer Park Boys. - Atomic Wedgie
Nothing is like TPB.. And nothing ever will be like TBP. Best Canadian show ever made. (frank) best show ever made period! The office is lame now. Dwight act has changed, he seems more confident on camera, which doesn't bode well for his character.

I'm looking for a GAA around 2.70-2.80 and a .905 save percentage for both Scrivens and Reimer. I understand that doesn't translate into playoff hockey, but anything above is just gravy (including the playoffs).
Toronto is the worst place on earth to develop any player. And goaltenders are the hardest position to develop in the spot light. If you track the progression of most of the league's best goalies, a .905 sv% and 2.70 GAA at their ages would be great.
Burke took a lot of heat for his goalies, but you've got to respect that. He kept the focus on himself and tried to give these guys the chance to develop properly. - Leeman4Gilmour
As long as they keep those shots to a minimum from the slot and rebounds cleared, and not have both defenseman chasing players behind the net, how many times with Wilson as coach did you see the slot wide open?
I get the impression most people who hype JVR haven't looked at his stats.
Not to say they're poor, and he won't get the same ice time here. And perhaps having the creativity of Kadri along with other team's 3rd pairing Dmen to compete with will help. That said, he's no all-star - AngryWhiteMale
Counter point: I have looked at his stats. I also saw him dominate in the playoffs two years ago and then have his season ruined the following year by freak injuries. This is a 22 year old former second overall player. A guy with mad skills and the chance to be really, really good.

He was tied for 29th in the league for points last year amongst centres.
Which means he's either one of the worst 1st line centres in the league, or one of the best 2nd liners in the league.
