No. I would way rather suck major ball s*ck and get 1st overall than trade for jamie benn. Lets develope the right way, we dont need to trade lots of assets for benn.

That's a solid Leafs fan thinking!! Maybe then we can hope our draft picks come through and aim for the 2020 playoffs.

actually it was the islanders, dipietro/yashin
- wingz4life

They had the long term contracts, but the cap hit was equal over all the years. Zet has a contract paying him between a high of $7.75m and low of $1m per year.

Tavares and DiPietro for a 3rd. Leafs buy out DiPi.

Basically, buy Tavares for ~$40M

I don't think you've seen many Stars games then. Out of ten, I would rank Ben an 8 for career potential maybe a 9. Ben is going to be among the elite, ppg, perenial allstar. If Gireux can turn into a Hart trophy candidate, so can Benn. Benn is THAT good.

flyers practice: 7pm

leafs practice: 10am

your attempt at proving whatever the hell it was you were trying to prove was lame ... go back to your drawing board.

Actually it was Detroit. I believe that Zetterberg was the first guy signed to one of the Back-diving contracts

yeah, but the kovalchuk deal was the straw that broke the camels back....and now they are gonna give up mackinnon for their troubles.

Ok, I would definitely move Gardiner for him.

Gardiner and Frattin? Probably too little but you gotta try right?

- xxCHRISTOFIRExx

Joe Nieuwendyke would laugh his ass off if that was even the starting point of a conversation? "Hey Joe, would you give us the rarest of commodities, an elite numeber one centre whose in his early 20s in exchange for our cuncussed future second pairing defenseman and a guy who just got cut off the fifth worst team in hockey?"

well, I jest but he did trade Neal for Goligoski, so who knows. Personally I think you have to give him the potential of a lottery pick just to start the conversation then hope like hell you don't finish last.

A guy like Benn could be the young #1 C guy we need. He's not Crosby or Malkin but he's a vast improvement over what we have.

Who else would people compare him too? Like a Toews light? Or is that too high praise?

Man, I would LOVE if we got a guy like Toews. I think he's one of the best and most under rated players in the game.

I'm going to give you a small piece of advice, just in case you didn't get it last time, when people disagree with you don't go over the deep end, take a deep breath and then post. I have full authority from the admins to remove the account if need be. I'm not picking on you, just giving you a friendly message to not cross the line again when you get agitated.

I wish this would happen, but Leafs fans don't have the balls or integrity to do something like this. We wouldn't stand and prove we are fed up with it.

Or continue on being the team that never makes it anywhere, the only team not to make the playoffe between CBA's, the only team to not make the finals since who knows when.

What the leafs have been trying for the past 20 years is proven to not work... maybe try something different.

Here's some wild, wacky info for you:

http://flyers.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=35708

If exclude seats along the glass, and something called the Cadillac Grille, there isn't a seat at the FU Centre (or whatever they are calling the Philly Arena these days) for over $100.

But yeah, they packed an open practice. Mon Dieu, they are much more dedicated hockey fans than Torontonians.

And I'd also point out that they have to convince people to buy season seats, and obviously not enough people have because they are still advertising them, but that would be piling on, and I don't want to hurt KeatonDixon's feelings - especially since I know he has a big spelling test coming up.

Benn will sign with Dallas... just wait and see of Getzlaf is available at all as a UFA ... Getzlaf and 5 first round picks is better than Benn ..now and in 10 years.

Both have the same likleyhood of happening.
Stop trying to Burke this team into another 4 years of 26th place

- senstroll

Feel free to associate me with Burke all you want, history will show him as the only GM with the balls to ignore a large but ignorant fan base and meddlesom owners. He will be vindicated by time. Regardless if you think Getzlaf is half the player as Benn, you might as well stop posting now.

Benn is like, 7 years younger and if people think Dion is a douche, wait till they get a load of Getzlaf. That is a guy who would never succed in Toronto. Its doubtful if he ever regains his former elite status. We are talking about a guy who has declined for 3 straight years and who after winning a cup, a Gold medal and a WJH Gold seems to have nothing to play for.

Benn is already a better player than Getzlaf and in 3 years there won't even be a comparison./

Well, the Leafs held the practice during the day, when Torontonians either work or go to school.

I realize those things don't get in the way for most Philadelphians...

Oh ya, that propsal wouldn't fly but you have to try and fleece him just because he has already done it once with Neal. Maybe he is just dumb.

Also, I really like Benn and he may become elite but I personally don't think he is elite yet.
