Greg Brady @bradyfan590
For pure self-ridicule, in the East picked: 1.BOS 2.NYR 3.WAS 4.PIT 5.PHA 6.BUF 7.CAR 8.MTL 9.TB 10.FLA 11.WPG 12.OTT 13.NYI 14.NJ 15.TOR

Please Burnsie. I love you man.
Just one favour I ask of you. Please never again quote Brady or mention his name. Since we slayed the Berger dragon, GB is my #1 hated guy...even more than Simmons.
I just cant stand him. |

Wow. - Leafland
I hope you sincerely mean "wow" and that youre actually learning something here. If not I hope you realize that firing a guy and then retaining his top assistans, the rest of his front office, all his scouts and his coach is hardly an indictment of his hockey team. This was pure corperate BS. At the least he shoulda got his full five years before being judged on whether or not he did a good job. I mean, Kadri hasnt played as a regular yet, JVR hasnt played a game for him, Rielly still needs time and then there's Ashton, Colbourne, Finn, Percy, Biggs, etc. Plus whatever he woulda done this season. Just seems to me that even if you think Burke was doing poorly, he still deserved time to let it play out because as of right now, its too early to condemn him. |

I would bet that they are closer to the youngest team in the NHL then they are to the middle of the pack |

Still had 9 points in those 14 games. He just slowed down scoring goals a bit. |

I agree but I kind of think Grabbo and JVR with Kadri as the set up man (though playing the wing Kariya style) is too exciting to not happen. I like the way the team looks. I like they kept orr. I like that Steckel is probably gonna be in the press box. I think we might see some trade action sooner then later though. - Aquaman_2400
he's been pretty average to below average with marlies. McKegg is outplaying him. |

He refused at first. Agreed.
That said, he has been rebuilding properly the last two seasons. Im not saying Burke didnt fail, just correcting the inaccuracy of that first comment. - Gunslinger
I was talking about Burkes 4 year tenure not just the last couple seasons. |

I hope the Leafs finish 8 to 10 so I can (frank)ing laugh at all the "Leaf fans" who wish them to lose. |

nobody could have....hence why burke should have kept his big mouth shut and not made promises he cant keep.
is the team trucclent? nope.
is it built from the net out? nope.
are they hard to play against? nope.
Burke failed. The end. - Barx

Burke refused to rebuild properly and failed. Hopefully Nonis will have the patience Burke lacked.
The Leafs aren't young and they certainly aren't exciting.
They are a mid-aged, low skill team with very few blue chip prospects.
Listen, I lovem as much as the next fan, but you need a wee dose of reality. - Barx
What are you talkin about?
Kessel 25, Kulemin 26, JVR 23, Kadri 22, Komarov 25.
Other than Steckel who is 30. The rest of our forwards are 27-29.
Defense. Liles is 32 and Komisarek is 31. Phaneuf,Kostka,Gunnarsson and Holzer are all 27,26.
Gardiner is 22.
Reimer is 24 and still an RFA after next season.
Just because were not the Edmonton Oilers doesn't mean were not a young team. I agree that alot of people need a dose or reality. Were top 5-7 in youth for sure. It really would be in our best interest to bottom out this year. |

No sorry, totally incorrect. Burke refused to (and had too much honour and integrity) make the team better in the short term. Its his plan and theyre still following it. He made the product on the ice way way better. Its dissapointing to see people say he didnt. Whats better Kessel Phaneuf and JVR or Antropov Kaberle and Stajan? Come on! Bottom line is that he revamped this organization and I for one am more excited about this team then I have ever been. Its young, exciting and we get to watch them grow together. Just because his roster hasnt had success yet doesnt mean that it wouldnt in the future. - Aquaman_2400

Yea. So if you're going to go by that, he spend half quick fixing, then half rebuilding. So you werent being accurate by saying he refused to rebuild. |

I think it'll be close to what it was last year: MTL, TOR, NYI will be duking it out for last place in the East. |

Why not? That age included Connolly.
They will be the youngest or second youngest team in the league. Either way his point is valid. You're just being difficult about it now. |
