So, according to Ek it's Gadiner + Bozak + Komisarek for Benn...

Here we go again. You'd swear the Leafs had 5 players on the entire roster.

Maybe "showcase" isn't the right word, but to get him a lot of action to show that he's in good form so that, if he was traded, he's not going to need adjustment time for that team?
- jmatchett

They'll most likely be very close to splitting regular season time (60/40) so that Schneider is fresh for the playoffs. My guess anyway. Both goalies are starting one game each in this weekend's B2B.

Ek didn't actually name any players, I just put that in there because that's what Leaf fans want to trade for every star player not named Luongo...

Lol what do they actually have of value?
In terms of a Benn trade I believe both Reilly and Gardiner would be the starting price, not to mention other teams would seriously out bid them.

Anyone see that Armstrong interview last night? What a bumhole.
I hope all those people he sued for defamation turn around and ruin that turd.

He's a cheater, lier, and a bully. Great character traits!

Who actually helps that roster more, Benn or Lu? Benn's a great player but he ain't going to get you into the playoffs alone. Lu can do that for them.

Dummies.

Oh, but his contract!

It's interesting how many armchair GMs on HB would prefer to have cap space than acquire an upgrade for their team. As if having cap space suddenly lures all the league's quality UFAs like a pizza parlor after late night drinking.

Perry and Getzlaf are going to sign there next year, haven't you heard?

Oh but of course. It would be so incredibly difficult to sign those two guys as UFAs. They'd have their pick of the league to choose from and the skeptic in me doubts TOR comes out at the top of that list after living in 12 months of warm sunshine for so many years.

I can see Getzlaf re-signing in Anaheim but I think Perry goes somewhere else.

Hodgson on the first line? Seems a bit lofty doesn't it? He'd be a third center on most teams

It's impossible to say at this point. Although their "we're not even thinking about contracts right now but are 100% focused on the upcoming season" leads me to guess that they'll be testing the UFA waters this summer.

There is no way those guys go to TO. After playing in SoCal would you want to go to the media spotlight of TO? Plus the Flyers or another American tea with a bright future will lure them in.

Perry would be a top liner with the Sedins. Putting with shoot-first Kesler would be a criminal waste.

Of course. I could see the Kings making a play for Perry. Just a 45 minute drive up the road to play for a young SC winning team.

Well, there it is. Wade Redden a STL Blue. Hearing 1 year deal, $800K base salary with GP bonuses that could make it $1M total.

This guy hasn't played in the NHL for how many seasons and teams are falling over themselves trying to sign him.

Excellent *in my best Monty Burns impersonation* now maybe we won't have quite so much trouble with the Blues. Oh wait, we signed Cam Barker...

I have it on good authority (e4) that Cam Barker was signed for comic relief for the kids and will soon be suiting up as Finn the mascot.
