Awesome feedback. I'm totally glad you took the time to respond to my post. This was exactly the kind of response I was hoping to generate with my inquiry. Gold star, sir.

I'm just glad that we won't be desperately looking around for a puck moving d-man with a big shot that can play in all situations if he left this summer. Great thing about the 6 years is that the cap will be right back up there in another 3-4 years and this deal will look even more solid even if Edler doesn't improve and just maintains his current level of play, it's a steal if he does because those guys make 6 mil+ even on hometown deals.

How the hell does that happen? There's like 20 names in between them in alphabetical order?

Not the worst pick, but...

Honestly have no idea of what the hell happened.

Anyone been listening to some of the new hip hop coming out last year? Kendrick Lamar is so sick. A.$.A.P. Rocky and Action Bronson, too. Hip hop hasn't been this good since the 90's.

Really surprised I didn't get my ass kicked more...

So confident I didn't ask you. Pretty sure I was asking if people had been listening to new hip hop, not people's general inattention to the genre.

And spelling people's name is a plus. You quoted me, it's right there on the screen.

No kidding. For the 1st time in a long time I'm actually really excited about new hip hop artists instead of stuck hoping that Del or Mos Def will release a good album again.

Pro Era has a really good mix tape out that sound like old school Hieroglyphics with newer production quality. It's so nice to hear artists with a vision again.

I always found Mos Def to be junk, but if we're talking 90s hip hop, Del was the poop..Same with Souls.

Gangstarr and Tribe were also very good.

Black on Both Sides was an amazing album, as was Black Star.

Listen to this and tell me Mos Def doesn't bring it:

Tribe is legendary. I've always enjoyed Guru but as a rapper he was never on the same level as Tribe and De La Soul (and Del and Mos). Premier is definitely a top notch producer though.

I was hanging with punks and skins then in Toronto. We slamdanced and beat eachother up. You may have run from us once or twice.

I used to listen to Minor Threat and Pantera. The 1st concert I went to was Slayer with Bio-Hazard. I'm not stranger to the mosh pit. But I really liked Rage Against the Machine when they came out and I got really into Easy-E, The Roots and DJ Krush when I started university.

I like some of Most Def's stuff, and my obvious old school favourite is Pac.

I remember you guys...

Nah, kidding. I was in BC by this time. Like I said, it was only a phase—a few months until I got tired of the Run-DMC CD.

Once I got a little older and a little wiser, my buddies and I would still break things, but there was no dancing involved

I was a minor threat fan. I didnt buy into their whole straight edge movement...but they were one of the best hardcore bands to come out of the States. I was really into the early 80's UK stuff. Metal in the 90's..

I went to a big breakdance competion in 83 in Toronto at the Masonic Temple. All the top crews were competing. I didnt fit in at all but it was quite the experience. I saw Venom open for Motorhead there the same year. Stage caught fire first song Venom did... never got to see Motorhead for another 20 years...lol.

I hung around alot of non mainstream bands over the years..touring, security partying... I think thats why I'm going tone def I think.
