I'll say this about Barker and Vandy. The Canucks system can make awful bad defensemen look decent as long as AV likes them. See Aaron Rome. Ehrhoff didn't even look like a shadow of the player he was on the canucks last yr. Vandermeer is an upgrade on Rome IMO. He is Rome but will fight.

I have to admit I was a Rome fan. He brought good energy. Unfortunately he didn't bring the talent. Even if one of them work if would be ok.

I wonder what happens to Ballard this year. His contract is becoming more and more cap friendly by the day. After seeing what Zajac got and what Rielly and Benn want 4.2 for a salary is not bad.

Do you see Hall as a power forward? I don't see him like Lucic RNH is small framed and Eberle is very talented but again not in a mans body yet.

I agree. I think he could be trade for a mid round pick but that would be Mike G admitting a mistake. Ballard has been great about helping van avoid the cap though.
Even Booth. Zajac is better no doubt, but if he is worth 5.8 for 8 yrs, is Booth really that bad a at 4.25?

Why are you dumping on the guy? He was recovering from a career threatening injury last year. Inspite of his injury woe's, he was a huge part of the penalty kill. Right now, he's the best second liner we have. Gillis obviously is big on him and just refused to add Raymond to get the deal done with the Leafs according to sources back east.

Undecided on Booth . Have not seen enough of a body of work yet. He is a flake and has very little chemistry with Kesler and even Henrik. I have a feeling he may be a buyout or trade ,but I am hoping he works out here.

I don't see Hall a any more the a slightly above average 2nd liner. Still a nice player but not special. They missed big time on Seguin.
Eberle is Sakic 2.0. Well not quite but he is a awesome player. A winner and big time clutch
RNH-another great player. But not a elite franchise player. I see a less quick version of Paul Kariya. Love to have him but not a franchise player. The Oilers again missed on Landeskog. Could you imagine Landeskog and Eberle on the same line? Talk about heart and soul.
Yakapov-Alex Se min. He will scorea few goals. Probably be a consisant 30 goal threat but again not a franchise player. Boy Edm and Columbus are gonna be sorry they passed on Galynchuck
