Leafs fans really need to stop pointing to the Toskala/Blake for Giggy deal as a steal by Burkie.
It was a tie, that at the end of the day didn't really have much effect on either team.
Ducks: Blake was a decent winger for them. He continued to put up points, in his classic Blake style (i.e., never get close to being hit).
And Toskala never got a single minute of ice time before being jettisoned to Calgary.
Leafs: picked up Giggy (who was a salary dump by the Ducks). He provided one and a half forgettable to terrible years of goaltending for the Leafs (yeah, two shutouts to start his tenure, but after that? Not so much).
Sorry, Leafs fans, but that's a tie. And a pretty insignificant tie, at that.

Hey nobody said we won the lottery when we got Giggy for Blake & Toskala. However at the time Blake & Vesa were playing awful for the Leafs & with their large contracts, they seemed immovable. Honestly if Burke had gotten a 6th & 7th pick for those 2 just to get rid of them, Leaf fans would have been thrilled just to get rid of dead wood. The fact that the Leafs got anything for those 2 was a bonus. Giggy who had his own ailments came to a crappy team. So just the Leafs finding any team to take these 2 bums & getting anything in return gives the Leafs the edge.
