So don't treat all fans as being the same. There are many quality Leafs fans out there, and if you engage in reasoned argument then you will find that you probably have a more productive discussion than posting stupid things in an attempt to either impress/inflame. You'll remember that your Pens were in dire straits a few years back and are now at the top thanks to proper rebuild. At least allow us the same pleasure.

Exactly. DB fans exist for every team. The day I moved out to Vancouver was a Leafs Canucks tilt. Great game - had my McCabe jersey on met up with a few people and went down to the Shark Club. I met a lot of really good people there. Some good digs back and forth but it was all in good spirits. Some were db's but the majority were awesome. I've met some amazing fans in Boston during/after Jays/Leafs games. Some people take this way too personally!

Agreed. I'm living in Edmonton, and love the banter between myself and the Oilers fans. Some are DBs for sure, but most of the time everything is in good spirits and we share a beer afterwards. Oilers/Leafs at Rexall is always fun, the crowd is split pretty much 50/50 and the atmosphere is electric with alternating Let's go oilers/go leafs go chants for three hours solid

Yes the classic Joe Bowen call in the 90's when Leafs D man Lefebvre clobbered the Hawks Rob Brown

Where are all the Laff fan who said Rielly would be a nominee for the Calder this year?
- woopstash

I call BS on this...no Leafs fan said this. Any of the hundreds I spoke with all wanted him to go back to the WHL and not be rushed.
He did only play a handful of games last year, and it would be better for his progress to let him play big minutes this year.

I love giving the Laffs a taste of their own medicine.
I love the Pens but I'm surrounded by Laffs and Habs fans. Not a lot of Pens fans in Halifax.

- woopstash

So I assume you are one of these bandwagon Pens fans that jumped aboard the Crosby train eh? Well done. Do you like the Patriots too?
And a taste of what medicine? Most Leaf fans don't act like 13yr old girls...but if that is what you are trying to accomplish, well done.

Oh no totally get it. I feel the same about Yanks and Laker fans. I love the Pats but I don't care for most Pats fans. They see everything through blue and silver glasses.

Leafs get Benn

Leaf Fans reacton: Good Move by the Leafs

Rest of Hockey fans on Hockey Buzz: LOL LOL LOL Jaime Benn is a bust the Leafs made a stupid move should have gotten Luongo instead.

- Bruinsfan9329

This sounds like a sour nucks fan who wants to get rid of a over payed back up. Only if your foolish GM would have lowered his price.

Jamie Benn is the furtherest thing away from a bust.

Go after Benn it would be the best thing since sliced bread.

you wouldn't ONLY give up benn.....i suspect it would cost something like

gardiner, 1st rd pick, plus other solid prospect (colborne, biggs, etc)

- sensarmy_11

Benn is a RFA who is refusing to sign. Don't you think his value has gone down due to the fact. I think Gards gets it done. Especially since Dallas only 5 NHL ready D

Tell me about it. Born just outside Manchester, lifelong Manchester United fan. 12 championships in 20 years and now we've got all kinds of bandwagoners jumping onboard and the only thing worse than listening to their ill-thought out opinions is listening to everyone else... i think dallas would want the 2013 1st, considering that it's likely to be a lottery pick, or close to (no offense).

i think if nonnis made your offer to dallas, he'd hear the dallas GM laughing as he hung up the phone.

- sensarmy_11

You mean Joe Nieuwendyk friends with Cliff Flecther and the guy who worked for the Maple Leafs organization. Joe working for the leafs as an assistant GM is what got him the gig in Dallas in the first place. lol, Laugh at us? Really? If there is any GM who will make a hockey Trade with the Leafs it would be Nieuwendyk.

Yes it could the same dynamic that the ex Leaf gm Burke had with Anahiem's GM since Burke came from there. I mean Anaheim did take 2 over paid bums off the Leafs hands in Blake & Toskala. Than Murray took another bum from the Leafs in FRancois Bullsh*t man & the Leafs got Lupol & Gardiner. So I'm sure Joe's relationship with the Leafs could be a plus but still it doesn't mean were getting Benn cheap. But it's obvious that certain teams in the league do not tarding with Toronto, at least a plus for the Leafs is that due to Joe being the GM, Dallas is not on that list.

Moved to Boston in 2000. Pats went 5-11. But I climbed on board - bought the hat, the t-shirt, the sweatshirt.

Moved back to Toronto in early 2001. Took heat from my friends all summer when I wore my Pats hat.

Pats then win 3 of the next 4 Superbowls.

I get the "bandwagon jumper" thing a lot.

Leafs fans really need to stop pointing to the Toskala/Blake for Giggy deal as a steal by Burkie.

It was a tie, that at the end of the day didn't really have much effect on either team.

Ducks: Blake was a decent winger for them. He continued to put up points, in his classic Blake style (i.e., never get close to being hit).

And Toskala never got a single minute of ice time before being jettisoned to Calgary.

Leafs: picked up Giggy (who was a salary dump by the Ducks). He provided one and a half forgettable to terrible years of goaltending for the Leafs (yeah, two shutouts to start his tenure, but after that? Not so much).

Sorry, Leafs fans, but that's a tie. And a pretty insignificant tie, at that.
