"It's been a bit of a rough ride in Jersey," Rolston told The Star-Ledger. "I'm actually happy to go to a place that wants me. I just want to start new. I'm actually really happy about the change.

"I saw it coming. There was no blindside here. It was something we discussed from the end of the season and into the summer."
-- Rolston

And not having the role he wanted? He got loads of ice time and power-play time. Much more than he was getting in NJ. He lost that ice time when he laid an egg on the ice for far more games than any other team would have tolerated.

happy to be out of NJ, does not mean he was happy to be on LI & he was told he was going to play top 6, Just because the guy says the right thing in the media doesn't mean its all peaches & cream

remember everyone was talking about how great their PP unit was going to be last year too. it was awful... They have 2 very good lines and 2 very sub par lines. If we had of gotten Asham, Pyatt, Rupp, Halpern, and gilroy you guys would all be talking how much Garth Sacks.. instead we are talking about how wonderful Sather is doing.. stop. They still have Marty the rebound Party behind Henrik... and even though he played good for them last year I am Banking on every one of his games they stink and in a shortened season he will play more. That and their "shot block system" will cause a ton of injuries... so yes they look good but you never know.
- niteislander

Their PP was missing Rick Nash........the guys you mentioned are all role players who are important when you have 2 scoring lines. The isles cannot compare to them.

Im done with this convo.........its making me sick .

They dont have hopefulls, they have some of the most tenacious skaters in Hagelin and Callahan. Add to that the Grit of Rupp, Asham, and the young talent in Stepan and Kreider........how can anyone say their forwards are only one line. That team rolls deep, and their d is excellent. Lets not be homers here. Give credit where due...
- kindlyrick

So their guys are Tenacious skaters and our guys suck ... got it. So all of our young guys and our top 7 PP unit all suk. We have added grit with Carkner and have guys like Martin and Boulton but somehow Rupp and Asham who can't play hockey are better.. got it. They roll Deep... we suck. cool..

Islanders issue has been defense and goaltending fyi... we did not get outshot in many games and certainly did not get KILLED every game. We usually lost by 1 soft goal. We had guys like Montoya playing every other game... and friggin DP.

They had Gabby and Richards last year.. ever hear of them? That was supposed to be the best PP in the league it was one of worst. Yes adding Nash should help.. but We had TOP 7 with our guys. You Can compare them.. sorry u don't think so.

Dont act like im telling you your girlfriends ugly..........im telling you how it is. You think i like the fact that the Rangers have prob the best team on paper in the league??? Its aggrevating having them come in our barn and see all the Ranger fans rubbing it in. But other than Tavares, and maybe Hamonic, and Streit......we have noone on this club.

My point in bringing up Rupp and Asham wasn't comparing them to our team. Dont be a bitter fan. I was pointing out how Sather built his team for the playoffs. They have a bit of everything on their team.........they're built for game 7 of the cup finals.

Dude are you serious right now? Is this even an argument??????? This isnt about isles vs rags. This is about the fact that the Rangers put together a squad ready to take on any team. The isles are 7 waiver wire pick ups away from a playoff berth.......oh wait.

I gotta side with him, You guys are talking about the #1 seed in the East & thre second best team in the whole league last season as thou they lost half their players & the other half will be out with injuries most of the season... This team has Solid D, the best goalie in the WORLD a first line that any team in the league would love to have.... lets give credit where its due.. we hate them, we want them to fail... but they are a playoff team, they are a contender & the addition of Nash... come on!

Put it this way....like them or hate them, if Bettman and Fehr decided that as part of the CBA the Islanders would be able to swap their entire roster with one NHL team, the Rangers would be among maybe five teams I'd consider. Nothing's guaranteed. Anything can happen, especially once the playoffs start. But they're in a pretty good position to do some damage.

And they for onec in a VERY long time, have talent coming from their system.. Their farm is not as barren as it was under neal smith... there is some good young talent down there.

I hope you're right, but I remember when the Isles signed Eaton someone from the Pens' board said that we were going to love him too and that he was a solid pick up. I'm beginning to think you Pens' guys are just f-ing with us, toying with our emotions...
