.....just blissfully ignore my posts that were literally 10 minutes before the one you quoted....

My point was....why does everyone get their panties in a bunch when we "rush" Nino, but no seems to give a poop when we "rush" a Cizekis or an Ullstrom?

All 3 of them are pretty much the same (frank)ing age and, ironically enough, Nino is the biggest one out of the 3.

I didn't ignore anything. I took your point and took it a step further by saying NO prospects should be rushed, not just specific prospects.

Like I said in my last post, the two of us are usually on point, just a miscommunication on my behalf, I guess.
I think at this point, I wouldn't consider Nino being rushed. Taking into account our personnel, I think he's earned himself a spot on the 2nd line and I don't agree with Capuano's analysis that Boyes should be there instead.

I don't really disagree with most of your post, I was just pointing out the double standard that seems to be floating around when it comes to Neiderreiter. I don't want these guys "rushed" along neither, but it's been almost three years since he was drafted and he's a big (frank)ing kid. He, in his own words that I read the other day, says he has his full confidence back, so why not give him a crack in the top 6?

I've only seen Ciziekis play in the NHL, but he's small. That's where I have a bit of an issue where Islanders fans get to "pick-and-choose" who's getting quote-unquote rushed. Ideally, we'd be able to pick some halfway decent UFAs and none of this would be an issue and we wouldn't have to discuss it in these thread, but that's the state of the team right now. I'd rather "rush" Nino, then say...Strome, Nelson or Reinhart.

In fairness though, what else is Niño going to say? That he's not ready? That he doesn't have his confidence back?

Big or not, Niño was sooooo far out of place last season, it's almost ridiculous to think that three months of play in the "A" cured all those ills and made him ready for NHL top six minutes. He was big last year and was probably the worst forward in the NHL last year. I don't think there should be a double standard. But that cuts both ways. Niño can't be deemed ready for the NHL because he's bigger than others and because he put a couple of decent months together in the "A".

He played on the 4th line with Marty (frank)ing Reasoner.
Now, you're ignoring me...LOL. I said, if you're going to put him with the big club put him with Neilsen and Grabner on the 2nd line. A creative center and the fastest winger in the league are a pretty damn near close to perfect scenario for Nino.
Not playing with Marty Reasoner. I don't ever want Nino on the 4th line again. Ever.

I'd never ignore you. I never want to see him on a fourth line either. That's why I want him to remain in the "A" this year, have a nice playoff run, get some solid experience and confidence, and come back in September, ready for top six minutes in '13-'14. I really don't see the benefit of Niño on the big club this season.

I was kidding about the ignore part, hence the LOL. I said it earlier in this thread, if we could get any good UFAs to sign here, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. I think, with the roster as it is construed today, Nino belongs on the top 6. I wish it weren't that way, but our 23 and above talent is pretty much our top 2 lines and thats it. And, our second line would be a thrid line for most other teams.

The reason fans want to rucsh these guys is because who else do we have? I rather watch Nino play than these waiver guys I have never heard of. Maybe Garth should pick up actual talent during the offseason like every other GM and we wouldn't have this problem.

You would rather watch Nino look completely lost and put up 1 point? Guys complain when prospects are rushed and then complain when the same guys are left down to develop. Can't have it both ways.

Does anyone actually read my whole post, or just read as sentence or two and then hit "reply."

I don't feel as if ANY OF THEM are being rushed. I'm sorry for the minor frustration, but I didn't think I needed to spell this out for anyone. Any of them, meaning the three players I have mentioned. It's the picking and choosing of who our fans THINK are being rushed onto the ice. If Nino was 6-1. 175 lbs, then, yes, I'd question bringing him up, but he's God damn 6-5, 230. He's 21 years old. He was drafted 3 years ago.

So if Nino wasnt rushed last year can we expect the same 1 goal output for the rest of, what will then be a very short, career? The kid was lost last year and you can't blame that entirely on who he played with. Geez, if he was in position he should have at least had a couple go in off his ass. Just because he's big doesn't mean he's NHL ready.

He was rushed last year and played in a ridiculously oft putting position the whole time he was up. I don't see how that doesn't factor into it. Was he supposed to tip in those invisible Marty Reasoner shots? He shouldn't have been up last year, period.

If we had a "big league" roster like most of the other NHL teams then this type of crap wouldnt be an issue.

I don't think its unreasonable to expect our 1st round pick (5th overall) to be competing for a top 6 roster spot 3 years later. Especiallh with our personnel.

Its not unreasonable, but it isnt hard to understand why he's not either.
