Strome, Nilsson,Poulin, neiderreiter,Reinhardt, Nelson,kabonov,mayfield all aren't here yet. It's painful,it sucks but they are building a team that can be very good for a long time. Not to mention JT,Hamonic, Amac,Okposo,Bailey,Grabner,Martin are all 25 and under, and Moulson and Neilson arent 30 yet. Their all star goalie had career decimating injuries as well which has set them back. It's taken longer than we all have wanted but when Snow took over this team had 2 prospect and that was okposo and Neilson. Now they are top 5 in the NHL in that department. Throw in the fact that no one wants to sign here, what exactly did you expect? Snow basically took over an expansion team.

Let's face it though...if winning of any kind, for the present or future, was a priority here, DP would have been bought out along with Redden and Gomez on the day it was allowed. That speaks volumes to me.

Exactly. Like I said the other day if he could still be effective as a backup then I could live with him getting 15 games a year. The guy is done and can't even handle the backup duties. He is just going to be a black cloud over this team for the next 8 or 9 years

I really hope that is the case from Wang but I'm not buying it right now. One look at our D should tell you this is not a playoff team. For the Isles to make the playoffs there would need to be big time injuries from more then a few teams and a massive dropoff in play from more than a few.

No question the prospects seem very promising but until they prove it at the NHL level they are not 100% a sure thing. The fact is the Isles are still going to need to trade and sign quality FA's. I understand now signing quality FA's is not an option but some useful trades should have happened by now.

They have no problem bringing up Cizekas, but bringing Nino up is a problem? Huh?

Nabokov in goal is a no brainer...we should only see DiPietro this year on the end of bench wearing an Islanders baseball cap...the only time he should get ice time is if we're losing 5-0...outside of that forget about it. If Nabokov gets hurt then Poulin or Nilsson (sp) should come up and start...maybe that will give DiPietro a hint that we don't want him...
