Did anyone post the Isle Final Roster Yet??????



The New York Islanders announced today their 23-man roster for the start of the 2012-13 season.

The roster includes 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies. It does not include the three players currently serving suspensions; forwards Josh Bailey and Jesse Joensuu and defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky.

Who is Colin McDonald?

Granted our "D" is different. But I cant say its better. We havent seen these guys play yet.

Martinek could last the season or last a game. There are question marks regarding Finley, Strait, Hickey & Carkner. We really know very little about them. We do know Carkner can fight when healthy. But aside from that. ?????

Will Streit bounce back??? Will AMAC improve?????

They may turn out to be diamonds in the rough or the second coming of last seasons "D" squad. Right now its all speculation IMO. But I dont see to much to make me think we've improved since last season.

And until Viz is signed sealed and standing on Islander Ice. He's nothing but a problem.

Sorry for the pessimism but after waiting nearly 5 yrs. That line up is extremely disappointing to me.

Looks to me that we're going thru the motions to get thru the season.

Hard to believe the lineup is not better after a 5 year rebuild. This season is simply to buy time SCLI. All Wang had to do was hire a real GM and coach and have a middle of the road payroll and he would not have heard many complaints. This thing did not have to be this painful.

Aucoin at least has some mildly respectful numbers at the NHL level. If he can play both ways I like the pickup for the short term.

Sorry Chief. You know I respect your opinion but I just dont see it.

Seven yrs in the NHL. 102 Games played. 11 goals. Never played more then 38 games in a season.

He tears up the AHL but I dont see him as an improvement in the NHL.

I'll refrain from further judgement until I see him play a bit. (only because you say he maybe a good short term pickup)

One good thing about playing the AHL'ers is we know they will go all out, and not hold back.

They know if they play well... they may stay up in the NHL for a bit.

If not... back to the "A"!!!

He's played this season in BPort...team captain and second on the team in points, but mostly assists, and probably mostly from playing on the top two lines all season. Just my opinion, but don't expect much at the NHL level; he'll probably be sent back down when Bailey and Joensuu are back. He's older...like 27 or 28, so not a kid with loads of untapped potential or anything. What you see is what you get. Good for what he is though, which is a leader and steady presence on Bridgeport. I wasn't really sure why he was in camp, let alone how he made the final cut, but with the injuries, I guess there you go.

I think if Finley drops Rupp or Asham in a Rangers game we will all like him pretty quick!!!

Well, that's certainly not going to put the fear of God into anyone, that's for sure. But, let's see what they bring tomorrow night.

Strome is being traded to the Barrie Colts. Niagara wanted him back so they could make the deal.

I looked at his fight videos, and he got beat by smaller men, so i dont understand why the isles claimed him, cause he can not fight, to unbalanced on skates.....
