Well, that's certainly not going to put the fear of God into anyone, that's for sure. But, let's see what they bring tomorrow night.

really interested to see what Hickey can do.

Redden signed by St. Louis - excellent move by the Blues. Redden still has some left in the tank. Isles should have snagged him!!!! (frank)

If ever there was an understatement..

But I'm still looking forward to the start of the season and like Mr Black. I'm curious to see Hickey and Finley play.

I hope Dish is giving us the usual 1 week free preview of Center Ice because I havent ordered it yet. Going back to Direct TV in a week or so.

I rather see Hickey and Finley as well. If this is a throw away season let's see some new faces then. We know what Radek can do.

SES111: If this is a throw away season

What strikes me as interesting is that there are only 10 players remaining from last seasons roster yet it doesnt look like we've improved.

Aside from regulars: JT, KO, MM , Grabner, Martin, Nielsen, Reasnor, Streit, AMAC, Hamonic, all the rest are call ups from Bridgeport or recent Waiver acquisitions. Almost forgot those high end UFA signings.

Since may of them have never played together. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to come together as a team.

Can anyone really expect them to gel immediately & start putting "W's" up ?

Finley will turn out to be a less talented Hal Gill. A human-sasquatch mixed-breed that will have the defensive prowess of a traffic cone.

I'm setting the over-under at 3 1/2 games played (for Finley) before this thread's usual dooms-dayers are pounding away furiously at their keyboards in here, complaining about him.

By default, the defense is much better. Jurcina, staios, eaton all out of the league now played lots of minutes last year. That, along with nabby the season starting #1 guy helps. Visnovsky arrival will make that power play filthy as it was top 10 in NHL without him.

I don't think this is a playoff team especially in that division but they shouldn't be awful or as bad as a lot of think.

3 1/2 games? They were doing that 3 1/2 minutes after he was claimed

Aucoin at least has some mildly respectful numbers at the NHL level. If he can play both ways I like the pickup for the short term.

I'm giving the kid a punches chance. I'll probably be disappointed as usual but I'm looking forward to having some Gigantic "D" man clearing our crease.& punishing the opponents forwards.

From what everyone has said. I'll still be looking.

Maybe he'll turn out to be a good bottom pairing guy. I didn't hate the pickup. I just don't expect much.

SCLI all they did is replace bad players for bad players and the loss of PA will hurt. Still cannot believe he was not traded. I can live with another lousy season if they are agressive this offseason. I want to see real moves made and I want to see kids like Nino and Strome part of the team. No waiver pickups or camp invites.

So I'll go out on a limb and say that right now you could give a Flying RATS A$$ about the Isles opening day roster.
