Sorry only read a few paragraphs of the blog before I wanted to punch my screen as well the first page of comments so forgive me if its been said but.....

WTF are you talking about? Barring injury the 48 games won't be a issue, look at stats of GP and other goalies in last shortened season, the teams that went deep and won had a goalie who played alot. Some goalies will like this pace, players not so much.

Karlsen, give your head a shake, we are fine with what we have plus with new waiver rules any decent pick up has to stay in nHL, if you pick them up the have to have a NHL roster spot and if you send back down original team who waived has first claim to pick back up.

dangerous to assume something based on how someone plays when there is zero pressure.

reimer was incredible for the leafs the 2nd half 2 seasons ago............

not saying the guy isn't a good goalie, but acting like he's a top end goalie is a little ridiculous.

and it's not easy to follow a team when most of their games don't start til 10 or 11 at night. how much do you know about the small market eastcoast teams..........that's what i thought.

- sensarmy_11

oh, didn't realize i said top end, i thoguht i said more along the lines of when he proved that he has the POTENTIAL to be a starting goalies.

and i know a lot about the small market east coast teams. Sens are my second favorite canadian team, probably 3rd favorite NHL team

what a stupid argument. Earlier you say Bishop is better even though he has proved nothing in the NHL because he was buried behind star goalies like Craig Anderson, now you discount what Dubey HAS already accomplished at the NHL level... Homer, watch more games out of your conference
- gzatron

please point out anywhere that i said bishop was better. i said he could push dubnyk for the job.

and i didn't ignore what dubnyk accomplished, i simply said that it's dangerous to base a goalies future success on what he accomplished during "garbage time" when there was no pressure. how was he playing at the beginning of the year, when the oilers were still in the hunt, and games actually mattered?

didnt last year you also believed the Avs were going to a lottery pick team and the Oil push for the playoffs?

When are you going to finally give credit to this team.

pretty sure you, or someone else, said he was a top 5 goalie the 2nd half of last year. not sure how i can interpret that any other way.

Lehner is now worth a proven 1st overall. We got to trade all our 1sts for multiple 2nds and 3rds and hire Ottawas scouts asap.
- yaktalksback

jesus, relax little boy. i doubt he was implying that lehner by himself was worth one of those guys, but rather saying that packaging lehner to edm (obviously with other assets) doesn't make sense for ottawa unless one of those guys is coming back. kind of a round about way of saying that the deal will NEVER happen.

you need to untwist your panties a little bit.

Hey Mr uninformed but still eager to yap...

Khabibulin played they bulk of the early part of the season and put up great numbers, then the wall fell and Dubnyk won the job.

what about bishop and a 2nd rd pick for smid? you guys have some solid stay at home guys (n. schultz, fistric), plus some solid young gusy (klefbom, j.schultz).

move smid, get a decent pick and a goalie with some solid potential. has played great in AHL and limited NHL action the last 3 years.

great analysis, why don't you actually write some words, explaining why i'm wrong, or is about as good as your analysis gets?

Tim Thomas

I know he is planning to take the year off. In Canada he wouldn't have any political issues.

- Dean_Youngblood

Tim Thomas is a sack of sh1t and he will find something to b1tch about no matter where he is. Great goalie, but a huge cancer.

I think Bishop to EDM would help the oiler out.
Unless the oilers want to send one of Hall/Eberle/RNH for Lehner, which everyone knows isn't going to happen.

How about Corey Potter for Erik Karlsson?

Not 'cause he's staunchly right of center----right?
Is it just that he complains a lot? I certainly get that he seems to enjoy the controversial spotlight - he's kind of Burke-esque that way which can be a cancer but I don't mind the idea if need be in a month or two.

I don't buy into the huge cancer talk with players, I used to but it's so illusory - ya there are extremes and perhaps Thomas fits the bill but that word gets tossed around a little too much where it becomes fukking meaningless.
