Regehr has a NMC. Can he be waived?

Not without his approval.

McM on LTIR?
Leopold?

I would love for Gringo to slowly be moved to PP and 1st line by the end of the season.

- JVince11

If Gringo (love how that one picture will solidify that nickname for him forever) gets 1st line 5 v. 5, then we'd have Ennis or Hodgson playing on the 3rd line or on a wing, where they're not as effective... Which is a problem...

He has a NMC. They need his approval to trade or waive him.

I haven't sat down with a pot of coffee and read the new CBA yet.

why? he is top line guy and now we have to trade ennis or hodge because having them on the third line would be a waste

Unless you're being sarcastic (I don't pick up on it well through text) my thoughts exactly. It's not encouraging when you also have another 3 guys in Girgs, Catenacci, & Kea that could easily be 2-3 Cs too (I'm sure I'm missing someone, but you get the point).

Could end up with lines 1-2-3 becoming 1a-1b-1c

It'd be like Jordan Staal in PIT (Or even Hodgson in Vancouver) where guys who are meant for certain lines (In Staal's case, 2nd) but can't get there because of an overly-deep roster. Pittsburgh's lucky they got anything for Staal... I'd rather no have the same thing happen here. If guys like Girgensons, and Gringo are developing well in a couple years, we pretty much HAVE to trade somebody.

Changed it about Leo, and 1st line PP or the actual 1st line 5 v 5 for Gringo?
- LetsGoBuffalo75

I hope Gringo sticks here after his 5 games.. and then maybe after like 15 games put him on #2 PP.. then slowly start to play him on random shifts with Vanek/Pommer... and then by the end of the year have him clicking on cylinders with to be our 1C and #1 PP

Each line will have different success or failure playing different teams . So who knows what will be the so called 1st line . Then if (and it will happen) a center gets injured? We have Hecht to fill in .

I like our lines a lot actually.... as long as we don't have too many players going casper the ghost for multiple games..

Vanek - Hodge - Pommer -> good scoring line but a liability on defense
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford -> hard working group, grimey, good in both zones
Ott - Grigo - Leino ->young playmaker with veterans on both shoulders who need that playermaker between them to feed off of.
Gerbe/Scott - McM/Hecht - Kaleta ->great change of pace, agitating and in your face type group.

I think I could see Kaleta/Gerbe taking a shift or two from Leino on that line.

Could you imagine Grigo with a speedster like Gerbe going up the ice??

A no-move clause means a player cannot be traded, waived for a claim by another team, or assigned to the minors without his consent. This does not protect the player from a buyout.
