Makes sense
Doesn't hurt to have a guy who plays at 100% on a line with the youngsters either... Lead by example
I don't think there's any way you can keep an "A" off of Ott's jersey- he's exactly what we needed on this team

First couple weeks will tell the tail on the direction the team is going .
Main factors ..Goal scoring and Goal tending . pretty much in that order.

We somehow managed to sell the tickets for the game the day of the Super Bowl already. I thought for sure that would be the one nobody would want at all.

I doubt it makes any difference. But the timing is kind of odd.

Just keep your hands off Cam Neely, Anton Stastny and Brad McCrimmon in tonights draft please. They're mine.

How's it going Homer?

I wasn't really around yesterday. Any interesting info I may have missed?

- HonkFortheGoose

nothing besides Pardy got waived as I predicted and they are going to put Gerbe and McCormick on IR to start.....Ellis/Scott roatate as 12/13 forwards depending on opponent.

Thats the plan as of now anyway.

I'm not saying talent wise, but when Rivet came in here all we talked about is how he should be captain because he was what the team was lacking...yadda yadda yadda...

So what you're saying is that everything went exactly like most of us around here predicted?

yep and RR felt way short of my realistic expectations as well

I have watched Ott play at least 150 games, he is one of my favorites

he is the real deal

He wasn't a bad leader. The problem is that it's hard to lead from the pressbox because your body just can't keep up. I had no problems with Rivet as captain other than the fact that he wasn't on the ice pretty much at all the last year.

Ott looked good in the scrimmage the other day. Hitting and everything even though it was just a scrimmage. I don't think we need to have the same fears about him having issues like both Rivet and Regehr seem to have had.

McNabb's been a little up and down this year in the A. They may opt to leave him there for another year, since he'll be eligible without having to clear waivers. I thought he started out the season strong paired with Pysyk. It appears that they've shuffled the pairings and now he doesn't look so great. Because the Amerks games aren't all that accessible, it's hard to say if the changing of the pairings is what caused the issue or if the issue prompted the change of pairings.

Either way, they don't have to rush him up here and can let his game develop another year in the A if need be. I kind of like the prospect of having him and Pysyk play together and develop chemistry. That could end up a very good pairing for a long time.

Good points
If that's the plan, then Myers and Ehrhoff need to be paired together now
And Myers needs to start playing tougher

What I'd like to see happen is...
Ehrhoff-(bring in someone like Seabrook)
McNabb-Myers (take some pressure off them)
Sekera-Weber (for the next year or 2, eventually they are replace by a combo of Brennan, Pysyk, Leduc, McCabe)
