From Bollig's mic'd up segment on the hawks website: "I know Jamal, that's the joke. I am not very skilled." This was after he hit the post in the SO. |

Not great. Not much worse than the guys they have right now, but definitely doesn't improve the team at the dot. Put him with a Sharp/Hossa...could be lights out. He has offensive prowess to work out great with those guys. Would allow Bolland to go to 3c which improves the team greatly as that 3rd line is looking shaky right now. Hell, with Connolly's injury history, Bolland might get his shot at 2c anyways.
With Connolly, there is potential there and the Blackhawks wouldn't be any worse for taking a shot on him. - HawkFan27
You're making some persuasive points 4 sure...have a feeling he'd be dyno on the pp to boot. |

A blog on the performance of Stan Bowman? Don't you have to do something before you can be deemed to have "performed"? There are dead guys getting more done than SB, and exhibiting more personality while doing so. Outta be a real short blog. - Hal9000y2k

Just under 49%.
Again...why would we go for any of these guys over Arnott??? |

If the Hawks sign either one of these two misfits I will be done with hawks management. Yeah I believe in second chances but these guys have had half a dozen chances and all they will bring in headaches to everyone in short order. |

If Stan is looking for a veteran on a 1 year deal why not go for Arnott over Gomez? For the league minimum Gomez may bring some value to the team, but I think it's worth spending a bit more for Arnott. - DarthKane
Not sure Arnott has the wheels to fit in with the way Chicago wants to play.
Also they already have Mayers. Center depth is good but having two ancient gritty centers is a bit much. |

Wicked segment...love Bollig...keepin' things loose, having fun with Brooky at the end.
Say, wasn't that Mike Kitchen behind the white team's bench ? Thought we were rid of that STENCH.

At least with Arnott you get a pulse!
Same injury risk though but a higher reward. |

Depends on what we're looking for. Do we want offense or defense from a 2c ?

Gomez would be no help whatsoever. Bowman is better off standing pat than signing that guy. Patrick Sharp should be the 2nd line center.

Toronto seems to be an early seller, should Stan revisit the Grabovski deal? |

Age. 31-33 v 38 in a compressed season could make a huge difference. |

Why bother, he'd only offer them tickets to a Wolves game.

Can't afford him going forward, now that he's signed long term at $5.5M. Toronto should tank this short season, get one of the top three studs in the draft, and then use their tons of cap space to fill in needs, like goalie, in the offseason. |

And Gomez is supposed to be the opposite.
I'm not banging a drum for Gomez here. Just kinda doing the opposite for Arnott. |

This is a good point especially given some of the older signings last offseason who didn't fit in because of their lack of speed. Also you wonder if Stan is a bit gun shy for that reason and just the fact that the bottom may fall out on these guys and they may sign them the year they finally are deemed finished. |

Stan will probably take the easy way out and just re-sign Morrison. |

I think he says he'll play wherever they need him in public but I suspect that there was an agreement when Sharp's contract was extended that he would play wing only. |

I always wondered that myself. Although Sharp did play centre for one game last season (the last one of the playoffs). |
