Are you thinking Hossa Al? Maybe I am reading into it, but his mammoth termed contract coupled with possible declined production may make him a more viable candidate.

If Bickell doesn't perform in his contract year, Olesz could see time in Chicago next year IMO

Not with a shrinking cap and Olesz coming in just north of $3mil a year. Just don't see it.

Maybe so but....GM's don't like to see a problem stay on the books for any longer than need be.

From everything I heard Olesz is not a problem child...

I'd really like to see Olesz contribute to the team. It's highly unlikely he'll be worth is contract, but if he can be a solid 3rd liner if at least gives Stan some options for the future. Olesz may not be a problem child...but his agent is (zing!).

Looks like Gomez to Sharks or Ducks

They have had more than that unused in cap space the last few years. If it were a one year situation, why not let it ride. At least you would have the player as insurance. Plus, I hear he is a model citizen for the young guys to use as a role model down there.

From what I see...

Frolik is at least 2 x the player of Olesz, and he may have trouble finding ice time.

I guess what my take is there are others with longer term deals that may make more sense.

Hossa would be a bold move but there is an argument to be made there.

A sunny outlook! Today- On the Blackhawks: "Optimistically Speaking" - FOX Chicago http://bit.ly/WMAGsa

JJ. Once Gomez was put on waivers to be bought out, you released this blog. The day after Connolly was put on waivers to be bought out. Have you heard if the supposed focus of the management has shifted to perhaps a better player that will become available (despite concussion history)?

No waiver claims to be made, I am told.
