C'mon Tim, figure it out! You've been around a long time. Giroux was just named Captain. This is Pronger saying it's not about me, nor is it my team anymore. It's a clear passing of the reins. You want to talk about the team, or Giroux being named Captain, then talk to Giroux. No legitimate reason to be disappointed in Pronger. He does not want to be a distraction.
- MJL

MJL, for once I'm going to agree with you 100%

Tim, there is no reason to blog about this...

At least Ek or Bill come back on the site and respond.

Tim, have you ever considered that Pronger maybe just didn't feel up to having a media circus around him? Or maybe he's just an ass who didn't want to give you the time of day. Maybe both. In any case, his life will go on and I have to agree that this was a non story. Hope he feels better.

Why are you so suprised? Now that hes pretty much officially outed from the team roster, well see less and less of him. He only showed up as a favor to homer because (ya know) hes still collecting his millions. Despite this and that about not playing he doesnt care about this team or city. Just says the right things when hes TOLD to,, not when he should (like this scenario)

It's probably because the beat really hasn't earned any favors, Tim. Also, 'click ur bick'? I'd deny you an interview based solely on that.

Not surprising.

Pronger has always been a di*k on and off the ice.

Tim, you mentioned in your blog that you and all the other reporters agreed not to talk about his concussion and now you are blogging about it. I have a buddy on my ice hockey team that can't even go to work most days because he has a severe concussion as well. He can barely look at bright lights without getting a migraine. So what do you think Pronger would feel like with the media lights a foot away from his face and 10 people shouting questions at him at the same time?

While I don't like Pronger, I completely understand what he did. Don't harp on the guy, he is pretty much off the Flyers team so don't run him into the ground because he didn't cater to your needs.

Yup.

How many concussions did Pronger deal out with cheapshots during his career. But now he is the poor martyr because his own career gets ended by one.

No sympathy for this guy whatsoever.

Pronger handed out more than his fair share of shots, no argument. But I think if you asked him,. he'd honestly say he didn't wish them long-lasting life issues.
But you're happy that a person is having trouble walking without vomiting and may have brain damage for the rest of his life? You're a stand-up guy.

We should ban hitting. Players refuse to let up and kids ar getting crushed. Im calling for stricter hit control.

Also should take away the skates, they can cut people (Malarchuk and the official who got cut when Downie checked the Rangers guy). Also, players are reckless with sticks, we should ban them. And that puck hurts if it hits you. I saw we play this game on grass, change from skates to cleats, and make the puck into an elongated oval made of pigskin that is either thrown from player to player or carried by a player. And instead of nets, we'll have a zones at approximately 100 yard spacing where players have to possess the ball in.

Hold up.

Did I just read this and about 3 other posts right?

These guys are actually glad that Prongs may not live a normal life ever again?

I'm the biggest Crosby hater out there. He's a "slimebag through and through". But I was rooting for him and hoping he could play hockey again just as hard as any other Penguin fan was because nobody should want to see a player get hurt at all, let alone sustain a career threatening or possibly career threatening injury. ESPECIALLY a concussion of this severity.

People like you that say Pronger "got what was coming to him" or that he deserved this in some twisted way show me that some people just don't get the big picture.

We don't know what will happen to Pronger. He might live like Primeau with good days and bad days FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. And you're content with that? You view that as payback?

How disgusting.

That's heartless. I could argue you're a bigger dirtbag than Pronger

Well spoken MJL. Tim is a tool and just like to stir the pot in a negative way, just like the way he helped run a couple other flyers out of town.

If it "This wasn't about him - it was about Giroux." Then it shouldn't matter if he was there or not. So sorry you are disappointed.. need a tissue?

Perhaps it's because he feels that you and most of the other Philly media blowhards are much more concerned with stirring up controversy rather than providing unbiased reporting.
Thank god for guys like Pronger who call you out on your b.s.!!

How dare he! Where does he get off snubbing the media jackals? The only reason anyone in the media is pissed is because they didn't get a chance to throw out a slew of barbed questions regarding his concussion issues.

Give the guy a freaking break for gods sake. Is it really that important to hear what he has to say about Giroux getting the C? I mean the guy has been out of the loop for over a year now and the media is well aware of the reasons for that, why does the media care so much? It's got nothing to do with him. Let the guy be.

Besides, I'm sure Chris really gives to poops about what some dopey blogger has to say about him and his decision to deny interviews....

Get a grip Timmy...
