Good move for the Yotes, leafs just had too many forwards. He gets to play in his natural position so i think itll work out well, plus tippett makes anyone look good. |

This deal has nothign to do with Lombardi as a player.
Lombardi would have been lucky to play 20 games In T.O. this year.
This is the leafs getting some cap space free for future moves,
And Yotes needing short term $ to get to the cap floor.
Lombardi is a nice easy fit in Phoenix with an insane $, but a UFA at year end.
I think the floor is 54.3 so even with this deal, I think the Yotes need to add another 1 mil by puck drop on Saturday to get to the cap floor. |
