i wanted them to move him at the deadline when he was having a good year. hes a good player and i like him but his value was way up. if they can move him for a draft pick or prospect i say do it and put a guy like kadri in the lineup because we need to see what he can do in his contract year.

The way I read it it says you can retain cap and salary. Sounds like you can do one or the other or both.

tough to tell until its clarified but I read that as saying "cap hit/salary" ...meaning you take both together not "either or". Then the Komi example they use the Leafs retain 1/2 salary (1.75) and therefore 1/2 cap hit (2.25).

I'd keep MacArthur around. He's the type of player I'd want the young guys to learn how to be professional from, and learn off his hard work as well as being a team first guy.

The 2 that I remembered was that a retained cap/salary can only be traded twice. You can have 3 guys with retained salary at a time.
