Breakups can be hard. Why couldn't Gillis just have given him 6.5 for 4 years or something reasonable? Leafs would be creaming over him then. - Blazed
He was the franchise player who dragged the Canucks into the playoffs for a couple years when the secondary offense was Byron Ritchie, Jan Bulis and Bryan Smolinksi. He had the best years of his career and still is an elite goaltender.
He'll probably be better on the Leafs than he has been in Vancouver the last 2 years. When he was at his absolute best he was facing 30+ shots a game easily and his best Canucks games are when that happens. When he does poor is when he gets 22 shots and has stretches of 15 minutes with no action.

Leaf fans claim to hate the canucks. Guaranteed watched the games sundin played with them i know i did - Mapleleafs_91
That signing was worth it for what it did to Ryan Kesler alone. He learned so much on how to be a big center it was crazy. If Kesler ever remembers how to pass the puck again he'll be better than ever.

because he gets cold. When he was on the panthers he played better getting more shots. Knowing the leafs, he will get more shots

He faced the most shots every year in Florida and had insane numbers. What do you expect a goalie to do when he can go half a period taking a nap and then Edler forgets how to pivot and all of a sudden its a 2-0.
hahaha if im saying it now, ill definitely be saying if hes traded here LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, bingo bango bongo his name is roberto luongo - Mapleleafs_91

Never forget the game when they faced leafs and the shootout and his last shot to score in it and win the game haha classic sundin moves and shot. The fans in toronto who booed that day have no class. Yes we could of traded him to get something but i recall him wanting to resign with the leafs but the GM didnt am i right?
hes shown flashes, just needs a chance and needs to be put into a position to succeed - peddy-93
or to remain out there to see what he can actually do. There is a thing called a hot streak which appears and disappears but there is also consistency.
