It is also the home to some of most brilliant people on the planet, and chock full of some of the greatest athletes in the world. Everything in life is a two sided coin my friend. Success breeds complacency, and I think that is what is killing this country. It's easy to sit on the side lines and take shots at the incumbent. Just make sure you have you stuff together in case your nation ever summits.

One time someone entered my unlocked cottage, took my snow shoes, ate all my back bacon, and drank my beers eh.
Turns out it was my drunken neighbor lost in the dark again. |

Rural America and Canada are very similar places. I think it's our major cities and the outlying suburbs that are the issue. Too many mammals sharing too small of an area. - WayneZ
Rural America is different then any other place in the world. Very scary |

I have yet to even attempt to suggest a coherent and comprehensive pathway to resolve your situation.
You just keep waiting though... |

I've seen rural Alabama and rural Alberta. They are not similar. |

Sure they have some of the most intelligent people and some of the best athletes but all that can be achieved by throwing money at it. But on a grand scale, across the board Americans fall far behind Canada and the rest of the first world countries in education and fitness. |

I think Canada should develop a huge magnet, in a secret underground lair. When they turn it on, it will be so powerful it will suck every gun in North America to the magnet. As payment, the United States government will force the NHL, to give all 6 Canadian teams the top 6 draft positions for the next 3 decades. |

i mean, we lock our doors when we go to bed. i have an 8 year old daughter, it's just due diligence i suppose
i can't tell you how many times ive walked out in the morning, looked at my truck, and realized the back of it is just loaded up with tools. not a single thing missing.
my lawnmower has been in the backyard under my deck for 4 years. not chained, just hanging tough. don't think anyone's ever even looked at it - joel878
All of those things would be gone in minutes in most canadian major cities. |

anyone interested in a pool? had a few people pull out last minute.
draft is tomorrow evening.. head to head. 12 team.
there is a 25.00 buy-in, and a 300.00 prize pool.
you can rest easy knowing that if your money we're to go missing, flyersgod will just shoot the place up. |

I never lock my door either.. i figure if someone needs to get into my house there is most likely an emergency. I used to live on a lake and i always feared people would fall through the ice and my place was the only place you could take shelter. I never lock my car door either, never had a break in.. yet.. |

and for sure, that's not arguable.
bad poop happens everywhere. i love my city, and have never felt threatned in it for a second, but one of the more horrific murders in canadian history happened about 4 blocks away about 9 years ago.
at the end of the day, regardless of what happens here, i'm fortunate that i live in a place where i don't feel like i have to pack heat because every suit walking down the sidewalk is strapped out with an ak-47. |

That is why I stressed where Toronto ranks in metro areas in NA. Toronto is by no means rural. Nor is it perfectly safe and without gun violence... but we survive here without the same freedoms where weapons are concerned.
Again, no sarcasm, but, given the choice... if the residents of the Greater Toronto Area were allowed to vote on whether they would like to adopt U.S. rights to bear arms what do you think the response would be?

I live in rural Alberta.. There are differences and similarities. Biggest difference is that people here are incredibly hard workers, 15 hours a day 21 days in a row. But i must say that the arrogant redneck aspect is alive and well here. |

Only one problem with your little scheme:
We have seven teams.
Just a matter of time before your little friends to the north own this planet. |

No clue. I've never even been to Toronto, so I wouldn't even try to guess what they may or may not think. If you theory holds true, why not disarm your police force? |

Because the guns that ARE out there, are owned by the criminal element for the most part.
Ok good night everyone. |
