So essentially what you're saying is that all of these teams can offer a better package than the Oilers can with Klefbom?

He didn't compare the two really, just said Hemsky is better but has a large cap hit and injury prone. Obviously Hemsky is better.

You simple bugger...all I was saying was that Leafs or any other NHL team could easily offer up something that would match or beat this offer by Cloutier. And yes, at this point I would say Kadri has more trade value than Hemsky.

Yes they are unpredictable. Doesn't change the fact that right now most of those players are seen as better prospects though things can change quickly.

Depends what your looking for really though? Hemsky could play very good if healthy. Kadri someone might take a shot at in a top 6 roll and see how he does. Hard to compare the two.

i wont disagree that 2nd or 3rd best is premature to say the least. But their draft year absolutely skews the list.

Theres a good chance Klefbom turns out better than some guys on that list. Especially the fact he's going to be on a great team might help. You have to agree he's not a top 10 or 15 at that defense prospect. To say he's top 3 is crazy.

No, not really. Let me think...

Seth Jones is a better prospect, but he's not drafted yet. Brandon Gormley is a prospect I think very highly of, so there's him. From what I saw of Jacob Trouba at the WJC, I might put him at the top list.

There's plenty of "big names" I'd rank lower than Klefbom as a prospect: Hamilton, Rielly, Gardiner, Murray, Brodin...

So if you include Jones in the list, there's three defensive prospects I'd rank higher than Klefbom, and in saying that, I suggest Gormley and Klefbom are about equal in quality.

I think after 2 years of learning from Chara, Hamilton will become one of the best all around young defenseman in the game. Kid is going to learn a lot from Chara and Seidenberg

Oh definitely...and obviously you can't cause Kadri has never played in the NHL really...
If you want to add in an NHL ready player, then Kulemin.
Gardiner or Rielly, Kulemin, and 2x1st rounders is better than Cloutiers offer...BUT the Leafs wouldn't trade for him.

I live in Red Deer and have watched Dumba play plenty of times. Ive also watched Schultz play (not live of course) multiple times. That ranking is stupid. NHL games will tell the tale, but Dumba is criminally overrated. I was stunned he went so high in the draft.

Like i just said.. he MIGHT be the 5th best d-man from his draft.. hard to argue him being the 2nd or 3rd best prospect in the game with that being said...

I'd say they're pretty damn similar. Hemsky has a lot of characteristics that start to make him look like a salary dump much more than an asset someone would trade for.
