I agree. He's was looking like the 8th guy...now seems Foster is the 6th guy and Gervais is 7th

as per Bill on the twitter

At least he'll get either a shot at getting picked up, or he'll be able bide his time with the Phantoms while having a very high probability of a recall at some point.

The new waiver rules make a hell of a lot more sense now.

He may have a strong year with the shortened season. About midway through last year was when I saw him slowing down.

Looks like 2nd line if Briere is out to start the season (which seems likely). With Talbot & Voracek as linemates I believe.

Nice. Picked him last in my keeper league.

Could give you 10-14 goals this year. Nice keeper to have as well given his upside and age.

With the first pick in the 2013 NFL Draft the KC Chiefs select Famous Dave Bar-B-Que.

So who's left on the bubble? Laughton, Sestito, Shelley & Wellwood?

Seems more and more likely with some of the lines they've been running and Briere out. I don't think he'll go past the tryout period though.

Some outside the lines notes from practice today:

On the second PP unit they had Foster and Timonen working as a pair.

Mezzy looked to be in good spirits but looked a step slow especially when trying to accelerate backwards in drills where they were supposed to keep the forward to the outside when driving to the net.

Tom Sestito is HUGE.

Foster can really bring it from the point.

The overall mood and tempo was upbeat and fast paced.

The team did a lot of work on the power play again, including many extended 5 on 3 drills.

Laughton did NOT look out of place.

Briere not on the ice for any drills that I saw.

Hartnell is noticeable as a guy who as really taken a leadership role on the team.

No unless he really impresses. No point in burning into his ELC in a short season.

As in a BIG man. I would not be averse to him making the team as "lead negotiator".

They will end up keeping him, because it's the most Flyer thing they can do

Coburn and I couldn't quite tell since they were on the far end. I THOUGHT it was Schenn or Mezzy.

You know it'd be neat to see Coburn on the right point where he can unleash some off handed one timers.. maybe have Voracek feed him..
