True, I was at that game too, it was a nice goal. Didn't get to see him take a wrist shot. I just thought it was funny to say Bollig has an elite wrist shot, when I think elite wrist shot I think Sakic( ). Or in the modern era, Semin or Kessel would fit the bill.

Players on the Blackhawks, when asked, go out of their way to talk about the strength of Bollig's wrist shot.

He does have a nice wrist shot.

And wasn't the whole reason Tallon got bounced because he told J-Mac to pound sand when he told him how to run the team allegedly assumed but by no means backed up by any type of first hand evidence the general public has seen.

If the NHL was smart, why not give the Hawks the winter classic this year or market a little bit by the Hawks playing one of their games at the rink being put up at soldier field?

Good god, there were so many things wrong with that defensive play. He should watch a lidstrom video

If youre going to play the active stick check route on a rush, you have to keep your spacing and your feet moving.

If youre going to step up on the puck carrier, you have to take the body and/or keep him to the outside and not give him the middle of the ice.

What does Leddy do? Plays stick check, steps up, stops, doesnt touch him, lets him right into the slot.

Nice

So with redden and gomez being bought out do the rangers get a cap penalty since they were the team that signed both players to the contracts they were bought out of?

In fairness, it was a nice play, but if AHL'ers are doing that to Nick...i'd hate to see this happen in a meaningful game for the varsity

'Hawks already had it and it takes a lot to plan a new site. What they should do is still go through with the game at the big house. They could have re-started planning and set a date to something like Feb 24th or March 3rd. Still cool enough weather in S/E MI.

Phuck the wings and Phuck the Big House. Im glad they didnt get it. Having a canadian team in the winter classic was a dumb idea anyway. The primary idea for having the WC is to promote the league, and hockey in america. Besides for Kessel no one on their roster is marketable.

If only he was on a good team and had Lidstrom to mentor him... this would of never happened.

we have 1 and 2/3 terrific lines and 1 sensational D pair.......we are small on D and while Shaw has a wonderful heart, we really can't wear down opposition D so have little 3rd period advantage
I don't think Crawford has ever been rated as a top 16 goalie....his fantasy # is really becasue of a better than average team in front of him
several opposing commentators regularly question why our best passer, Kane, doesn't get more time to develop at center.......it's just the regular season

and he'll be back with Toews soon enough.....when Hossa was signed, the plan was to have Bolland as his center

anyone think that another franchise would consider Bowman as gm? would you?

afraid it's rangers/blues finals if healthy

See its that attitude is why hockey sucks donkey d!ck in popularity terms in the US compared to the 3 much bigger sports NFL, MLB and NBA.

As much as I dislike the Wings from a competitive standpoint, this game was to be between 2 of the original 6 in one of college football's premier stadiums.

If the NHL was smart - which they are not - the Winter Classic would have only been postponed and the league clearly state it would be re-scheduled if there was a shortened season....putting out a late-Feb or early-Mar [potential] date.

The 48-game was always in the cards as a minimum. Everyone knew that in the NHL offices. They could have done this and kept the great outdoor game.

Also because they can't see the forest through the trees, the Heritage Classic would have also been kept and marketed better.

Other WC mis-steps were not having the Rangers host the Leafs at the old(er) Yankee Stadium and not putting the Habs (instead of PHI) vs the B's at Fenway. At least they got Wings @ 'Hawks right in Wrigley.

Just because something is not 100% American, doesn't mean it sucks, especially as it pertains to hockey and the NHL.

LA not dealing him at this time
- John Jaeckel

Understand from their point of view.. not smart earlier in the season.. DO you think LA would relook at it mid-season if Quick shows he is 100?

I saw him a couple of weeks ago put one (wrister) behind some pretty highly ranked kid in the AHL, Swede, forget his name, not Lehner. I mean, the shot was from the top of the circle, unscreened and it was by the kid before he saw it.

Honestly, if he got enough minutes, I could see Bollig (maybe) getting 10-15 goals, especially playing with Kruger and Frolik. He could just as easily get 5-7. I mean, he can't do much except shoot as far as offense goes.

Did you see Leddy after the game looking for his jock in the stands after Ryan turnstyled him ? Rumor has it...Frank Umiyale sent Leddy a sympathetic tweet.

Glad you guys liked that one. Hope the new Bears coach gets a better o'line to work with next year. BTW...just heard from Omiyale...he's currently the grill man on the 4-midnight shift at a Denny's in Des Plaines.
