My username actually derives from my buddy calling me "Nick the Kid" for my love of Sidney Crosby, which isn't always easy given the fact that I'm a Flyers fan.

Its OK. When I see your screen name I ignore your admission of liking Crosby and think nick the kid, as in ding the kid, as in hit the kid, as in crunch the kid, as in crush the kid. It brings warm fuzzies to my heart just like this:

if you looked at the single seats left for saturday's game earlier the back rows were $94, not 48

I love the second video regardless of the fact that it was Crosby getting hit but I HATE the first video. Not because Sid got smashed but because Derian Hatcher was on the Flyers.

I had exactly 5 minutes left on my lunch break to make my avy. I'll come up with something -- or use your edit -- later on. I just wanted to make the change whilst inspiration was stil there and before anyone else thought of it.

Now tht I'm stuck interwebbing from my phone, it'll have to wait.

Again off topic, but thank god Winnipeg took Mark Scheifele 7th overall instead of Couturier.

Except we'd all be drooling over the arrival of Dougie Hamilton this season.

Aw c'mon Hatcher was a broken down too-slow-for-the-new-NHL player when he got here. Prior to the lockout I was a huge fan.

Hell the Isles took Ryan Strome at 5
- Jsaquella

A lot of teams, the Flyers included, may feel pretty silly about passing on Dougie Hamilton when all is said and done.

Ever see the battles that he and JR used to get into when Derian was a star? They nearly killed one another.

Hatcher was one of the best dmen in the game in his prime. He was just done when he got to Philly with all the new rule changes.

It is not unreasonable to argue that in his last games as a Flyer, during the 2007-2008 playoffs, Hatcher was one of the most effective Flyer players on the ice. He was a monster...anchoring the D amidst key injuries to other dmen and despite pulling a Yzerman and playing on one knee. Dude left it all on the ice in the playoffs for the Flyers. Can't ask for more than that. Hatcher was old school. (Just ask Roenick).

Norris > Selke

Hamilton's like Scott Niedermeyer if he had been born with Pronger's size (+).

They may well. Hamilton is an excellent prospect. If Couturier had been off the board, rather than the other names outside the top 4, Hamilton would have been the best pick.
