I left my office at lunch to go and do my daily jog and when I came back there were 11 pages of texts so I knew the Islanders picked someone up. Both the guys they picked up this week will eventually be in Bridgeport so they can bring up Donovan like you all mention, so I won't comment. I think you might see a trade with eithher Montreal (Yanick Webber is on the block per the Montreal Sports station) or Buffalo (Leopold or Sekera) if it's insn't too costly. If it was me I would make Subban an offer he can't refuse. I'd give him the 6 year offer JT got and give up the picks even though he probably isn't worth it....

Didn't someone say Slovan signed another defenseman? I bet Vis is wearing that guy's jersey and equipment

Subban's agent said he probably won't start the season with the Habs.... maybe we are trading Vis, Martinek, Finley, and Hickey for him!!!

What do you think?

NYI FYI @NYIFYI
As per @ehornick Visnovsky not in line-up for Slovan today. KHL won't let him unless agreed by #Isles which they won't and shouldn't do.

This reminds me too much of the Mighty Ducks.

I think Montreal would be looking for a new GM again.

Any of the Dmen you mentioned would be of immediate help to the Islanders. With that said the Islanders won't be doing it.

This is a throw-away season for the Isles. They have a built-in excuse with the lockout to continue to put off a serious push to get into the playoffs. Snow isn't going to make any meaningful trades or sign anyone until July 1 at the earliest. And when they do start making trades (if they ever do), they're certainly not going to give away three of a combination of top picks/prospects for guys like Jamie Benn or PK Subban.

Gotcha.........so year 5 of no playoffs.

I like him, I don't think he is worth 3 first rounders though. Especially 3 first rounders from the Islanders(top five).

I'd rather have four first round picks than Subban. Especially when those first rounders are the Isles' picks, which are likely to all be in the top ten.

I told you... Dee's blog made me happy today!!!

I hope she keeps up the good work... I can't wait for the next one.

She has really come into her own lately with the sports reporting... we get the facts, and with a little bit of insight of all the behind the scene stuff.

I think he had more money then as well.

I still think he is going to sell the team when they get to Brooklyn. I think he'll get most of his money back that he lost and then move on. At least that my prayer every night before I go to bed

I forget the system but i know it has something to do with how much you sign someone vs how many picks you have to give up.

With the isles situation, anything they do will require giving up more than necessary. I would sign PK Subban if it meant giving up 3 picks, not 4. To me, getting a player like Subban will help our PP, and 5 on 5 play. He would be the face of the teams backend for years to come. So you give up 3 picks. Those picks wont be relevant for at least 5 years. By that time, the isles prospects will be NHL ready. To me its a no brainer........kids got talent.

So Visnovsky is being held out of the game tonight in the KHL. He will continue to be held out until there is some sort of agreement made by the NHL and the KHL. Wonder how much money the isles are gonna want in order to allow the KHL to keep him.......

awesome, smug a$$hole. Shocked by this? Didn't the president of the KHL say they weren't going to honor the agreement they had with the NHL?

Well they obviously didn't for the last week or so since the lockout has ended. But, for whatever reason, it seems that now the KHL is standing by their agreement with the NHL. So, and it's way early to say this so take it with a grain of salt, it appears as if Lubo is going to have a choice of either not playing hockey anywhere, or playing for the Islanders in the NHL.
