That's basically 3 first round picks for Benn...Despres looks NHL ready, Bennett is on the cusp, so likely non-busts...and one pick where Dallas can do what they desire...
Benn is worth more than 3 1st rounders??? Two of which who already look to be pretty good players?? - mventres
Why would they trade a surefire star like Jamie Benn for guys who are "likely non-busts"? Especially when they aren't in a position where they want to blow up their team and rebuild? They could get much better offers than that for Benn if they wanted to trade him. |

The value of Franson and Kadri is questionable. Bozak would have decent value in a 1-for-1 trade, but that value is cut sharply when he is being added as a "sweetener". Let's just say that Kessel and Bozak for Benn is what would be considered "fair value". Dallas still has no motivation to make that trade because they are losing the best and most desirable player in the deal. Most of the time with trades like that, it takes an overpayment. Even if the Stars did get into a situation where the absolutely had to deal Jamie Benn, I can pretty much guarantee they would get something at least a little bit better than Kessel and Bozak. - SteveTambellini
The real issue becomes cap management, after this year. How many teams will be able to take on a contract like that, going forward? Leafs are one of the few teams with cap room, to absorb a long term $6 million plus contact.

Finished 1st in the league 2 years in a row but still have done the same thing as the leafs. Not win anything - Cherry--Skoal
The league is extremely competitive, no one could match up to LA last year. By no means am i saying the Canucks are the best team but I will take our chances over the Leafs any day. |

Yeah, I am very interested to see how each team goes about keeping themselves under the cap over the next few years. It should be very interesting. The Stars don't have too much salary committed for next year though and they have their 2 amnesty buyouts just like everybody else. |

Enjoyed great playoffs - pker2theend
Canucks fans love to talk about the playoffs and how pathetic the Leafs are but honestly, how long can you be satisfied with "great playoffs"? In the entire history of your team that's all you can claim, you've enjoyed some great playoffs. It's amazing to me, I hear Canucks fans talk about the last two Presidents trophies more than I hear LA and Boston fans talk about the last two Stanley Cups. |

It's tough to say. I honestly don't know. I guess it all depends on who would be seriously interested and how badly they wanted him. |

Taxes would go up, if that happened. Too many fires and riots for the police force to endure every year. |

it was great in 2005-6 when the red wings won the presidents trophy but got knocked out in the first round by edmonton, the best! |
