And if you’ve watched any AHL hockey, you can still see who has NHL skills, and is playing in a league below his level, despite the lower overall skill level. Frattin is clearly an NHL level player, with NHL shot, NHL skating, NHL physicality, etc.

Besides, last year, as a 24 year old, when he put up 8 goals in 56 games as a rookie with 13 minutes a game and next to no PP time, he was playing against NHLers.

Let me guess, you also think Mike Kotska should be in the top 6.

Okay Komi it is then
- faceto27

Wouldn't make sense with Komi either. He's got 1 season after this. If the Leafs have a hard on to get rid of Komi which I doubt than deal him away for a 7th pick. But I think Komi will be with the Leafs this year.

Preferably I'd rather have the Stars talke Colborne. Reason is cause Colborne is primarily a center. If the Leafs gett Benn, they'd have Benn & Grabo as their top 2 centers, so Colborne is expendable. Kadri can play the wing so he's more valuable to the Leafs than Colborne.
- GCHonda

That's what I said a few pages ago: if you land Benn, You can trade any number of Leafs centres for him, as we don't need this center by committee structure anymore.

Connolly, Kadri, Colborne, Lombardi, Bozak, Steckel - Dallas can just pick and choose what they want from that pile.

And yeah, I mean pile!

Why didn't the Leafs invite Jesse Blacker to training camp? Have they given up on him an an NHLer? If so than they should include him in a trade while he is still young.

Although Frattin is not a superstar, can we at least see a leaf draft pick develop into an NHLer and play for the leafs? i think its been 100 years since that happened
- senstroll

Nonsense, we saw that happen to Stajan.

Matt Frattin?
Call 911, someone OD'd on the kool aid.

Matt Frattin is to the Leafs, what the giant Redwood tree is to the forest. A pillar of growth and strength, one which builds up its surroundings into lush fertile ground.

leafs need him to pair with Komisarek, would be a top point producing duo in the league
- wingz4life

"Redden to Komisarek, Komisarek falls over, the puck is loose, Redden makes a pinch along the boards, Redden gets it and makes a clearing pass, IT WENT IN THE NET! How was Reimer going to save that one? Wow what a shot by Redden!"

"Oh yeah Bob, did you see that set up by Komisarek? What a dynamic duo. How are they going to share the Norris?"

I think he's deserving of a long look, he wouldn't be the first NCAA player to spend years in the AHL before finally getting a shot at an NHL job. Or the first of his kind to be successful.

He's 27 years old, of course he's going to play better against younger guys in the AHL.
Let me guess, Keith Aucoin is a stud offensive player finally ready to shine just for the Maple Leafs and no one else years before.

AGREED 1000%. If I see Redden & Komi together on the Leaf back end, I'm going to close my eyes every time. The Bruins will ANIALATE those 2. I can see them against the Bruins. Multiple hatricks from Seguin, Bergeron, & Kreci. OHHH THE CARNAGE!!!!

Oh yeah, don't worry, I realize that.

I'm just saying any deal could include anyone from that pile, as we basically wouldn't need them anymore.

Even if you trade all of those players for Benn, Dallas is still getting ripped off.

Yes we miss Stajan. I use to love his predicatble streaks. Goes on a hot scoring for 10 games, than dissapears for the next 10, gets hot for the next 10, than goes awol for the following 10. All his season were basically this pattern.

Yeah yeah. I saw your 2nd post right after i posted mine. If we were ever to see a trade between Dallas and Toronto for Benn, it's almost guaranteed that Gardiner is going the other way. Gardiner + + + + . We finished 10th in scoring last year. Offence is the least of our worries right now.
