Id rather have McClement. Better defensive game.
- Pen15

Lombardi is a very good defensive player, once he gets his game back. Also a player capable of potting 20 goals, playing on the 3rd line. He deserves alittle time after missing a whole season, I think he'll surprise a lot of people this season.

That would certainly be ideal, so many holes in the roster, it's hard to even start dissecting it. Grabovski should be expendable, how he's making 5.5 million is beyond me, how do you pay your 2nd line centerman that much, it's absurd. Frattin is overrated, realistically what do we all think his numbers are going to be? I don't ever see him being even a 20 goal scorer...
- ThePresident

Agree that Grabo is a bit overpriced...but I like his game, and as of right now, he's the real emotional leader on this team...given the way he puts it out there every game.

I disagree re: Frattin...I think he's a 20 goal scorer EASY. He's got a great 2-way game..and has some punch to him. He's going to be a top 6 forward in the NHL IMO...probably as soon as this year.

Frattin is setting everyone up for disappointment, when I see Frattin, I see Pogge, Earl, John Mitchell, Kondratriev, Stralman, the list goes on. All guys hyped up, seen as better than they really are only by Leaf fans, only to eventually realize they suck.

It certainly would be a surprise if he played to that level.

If you're saying you rather have Lombardi in the lineup over Frattin, you might be the only one in Leaf threads that thinks that way, Frattin is a solid player, fights for the puck game in and game out.

No I'm not comparing the two, not saying one over the other, just saying Frattin is overrated. I wouldn't hesitate to throw him in a trade.

He is the leading scorer on the team as well, I think, I have not looked at the stats.

He's also 25 years old...I hope he can outscore the younger competition.

How overrated? He is a hard working forward who is not afraid of physical contact (something Leaf forwards are severely lacking), has a good release and has offensive capabilities. He is a useful player much more than some on the Leafs.

edit: he is only in his second year of pro hockey

All the Leafs need to do for the honour of having Lu's fat contract on the books is break up Kessel and Lupul.

"LUPUL FOR LUONGO STRAIGHT UP!"

You just can't make up this kinda shyt!

He's not a top 6 forward as some would like to think.
He's not capable of being a 20 goal scorer.
He's a hard worker, great, but basically a John Mitchell 2.0
He's been guarded by Leaf fans as if he can't be thrown into a trade, way to valuable, when I'm not so sure what he has done...He's 25 years old, not impressive.

What could they offer that would be worthwhile? They're probably looking to include Antropov
- As_I_See_It

Although I would have absolutely no problem with moving JVR, I'd want to do it for a centre.

And Winnipeg may have less strength down the middle than we do.

Kyle Wellfed? Really?
