Also have to add the Deer Hunter.

and

Schindler's List ....and that Jewish-Italian one with the father that protects his son (not a classic war movie but wicked-ass good).

- The Law

Both great movies. Schindler's List was not so much a great movie as it was a great story.

Well, with a little more depth on the wings, it's better than playing on the third line last year, with guys like Lombardi, or Crabb, or whoever the hell he was getting shifted around with.
- prock

Yeah, all he needs is some consistency from the coaching staff.

Forrest Gump was a terrible movie.

But I agree with your point: if you are going to include those, I'll put Raiders of the Lost Ark on the list.

I think I seen that one.

Is that the one where Tommy Gunn plays the evil general that Stallone has to kill in an arm wrestling tournament?

Top Gun has faded. I was walkin' down the hall at my office the other day and passed a buddy and said Top Gun ...put my hand up ...we connected up high ....went around for the back side tap and he had no idea what to do ...total fail.

It's day has passed.

Yeah, and I was serious when I put Forrest Gump up there. I assumed people would know I was kidding when I put Independance Day up there... one of the worst movies ever made.

I was serious about Enemy at the Gates, that was an awesome movie

The guy left you hanging on the low side?

Imo the movie is good...but its more of a philosophy film rather strictly a war film.

It's a movie with no real point, which meanders from story to story for seven hours with no real central theme or premise, with the gimmick of weaving in old news footage, which Steve Martin did a much better job of a generation ago with Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid.

Forrest Gump: the story of a guy who grows up stupid, goes to Vietnam, then becomes a pingpong champion, then a shrimp boat captain, then runs across America, then meets up with his old sweetheart who has AIDS.

The end.

Great movie.
