You mean, if they don't produce a goal after 5 minutes, Lindy will break em apart like LGO's.

All while miss-using the backup goal tender?! Somethings gotta change this year.

And Gamecenter Live is $49.99 for the season. Mine is renewing automatically on January 21. I don't know if you have the option to purchase before that date, though.

For those who haven't used it, Gamecenter Live is easily the superior service when compared to Center Ice (my experience is only on cable). You get every game in HD and you get to select the home or away broadcast so long as both are actually being broadcast. So the only reason you'll have to listen to crap like NESN is if you are a sadomasochist. Every game on Gamecenter functions as though it were a DVR. The overlay also identifies highlights and such on a timeline at the bottom of the screen. You can go directly back to one just by clicking on it. The PS3 and 360 (I think) both have apps that let you watch games on your TV so you can still watch on your fancy HDTV if you have one of those systems. I think some TVs and BD players probably have the app available, too. You can also watch games on your smartphone (Android at least), tablet, and computer/laptop if you don't happen to be at home.

So you might want to consider saving yourself $10 and go with Gamecenter over Center Ice this year.

That might be the way to go. I can mirror my macbook to the apple tv and have it on the big screen.

I'm trying to convince my old boss that he wants to give it to me for the 20% discount I would get if I was still working there. He's not budging so far. Keeps telling me I shouldn't have left.

I think that if the team is playing well and Enroth looks good in his first few opportunities he will go with him more often. The problem is when the team is doing bad, he keeps putting Miller in hoping that he'll have one of the games he stands on his head and steals us a point or 2.

Ruff does seem to trust Enroth more than he has the last few goalies we've had behind Miller. I think with him it's more of a lack of trust of the guys in front of him.

It's definitely worth it. I'm never switching back to Center Ice. If Gamecenter cost more I would still probably go for it, within reason, of course.

The only negative I've had is that it puts up the live score of the game when you are fast forwarding and rewinding through a game. So if I start a game from the beginning after the actual puck drop, it's really hard to stay ignorant of the score. But it's a minor nit compared to all the other conveniences and features.

I told him if he could get me a job there again that has the same pay and hours as the one I have now and promise I don't have to work with the general public I'd come back.

He told me no can do.

that would be a major issue for me....getting apps and all that confuses me. I'm to simple for that.

What else did all of you with eyes in the building think tonight?

Ive heard grigo looks pretty darn good for an 18 year old.. hodge was solid.. foligno was okay.. ennis had the juice... Scott looled like a statue... Goalies both looked solid. Myers was there but nothing impressive. Regehr was aggressive.

Vanek... Pommer... Adam... Staff... Hecht... Kaleta... Ott... Ehrhoff... Sulzer?

Pommer had a prime chance on Miller and missed. But he looked like he always does. Dependable Pommer.

Adam had a nice feed to Flynn for a goal. Other than that, I didn't notice him much.

Ehrhoff and Sulzer didn't jump out at me, but that's not necessarily bad either.

Hecht looked better to me than he has the last 2 seasons. I think the time off and the fact that he's 100% healthy is why.

Ott had a nice hit on Foligno. Had a few good chances with Grigs and Leino.

That's because he's 23.

Seriously, though, Allen Iverson has some words of Temperance:

Just got back from the scrimmage (and a couple drinks at pearl street after). Here are some things I noticed..

Myers looked very good, used his body well down low and accelerated quickly to make me think that ankle injury is behind him. Broke up a few odd man rushes with his reach too.

As much as I bash Ville Leino he actually looked pretty good out there and was showing patience with the puck. His team was using him on the PK with Ott, which I found interesting.

Grigorenko loves to shoot, was shooting a bit high today but had some nice rips. Didnt look out of place at all playing with NHLers. He had a breakaway vs Miller and almost made him look silly but Miller got his toe on it.

Foligno looked good as well. Seemed to pick up where he left off.

Hodgson had some nice looks, him Pommer and Vanek seem to do well with eachother.

This should answer most questions about NHL Center Ice

NHL Center Ice won't be free for fans after the lockout, and neither will NHL GameCenter Live. But both products are being offered at a discount for the 48-game regular season.
NHL Center Ice, the cable and satellite package, is available for $49.99 on inDemand (Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Bright House Networks, Cablevision Systems, Bresnan Communications, Charter Communications, Midcontinent, Verizon FiOS and others). According to Yahoo's Puck Daddy Blog, DirecTV is selling it for $59.96, four payments of $14.99.
NHL GameCenter Live is available for $49.99, the league announced Monday afternoon. GameCenter allows fans to watch out-of-market games on their computers and other devices, including PlayStation 3, Roku, Xbox and iPads and iPhones.
There was speculation that the NHL, after a 113-day work stoppage, would offer either or both of the products for free. That did not happen, but the prices are discounts, even considering 48 games vs. the usual 82.
As per usual, NHL Center Ice will be offered as a free preview at the start of the season. The free preview this year runs from Jan. 19-31.

You are a lucky man!!
I live too far away now.
Damn...I miss these events!
Although, I have a Myers road jersey that I will wear to the Islanders game in Nassau on Feb-9.
