I agree, just saying LUongo gets a bad rap compared to most goalies.
- Jack-artist

Thank you.

The contract length is the only bad thing(and maybe subpar playoffs)

The value per season in great when you actually consider the calibre of a goalie you will get. Plus with the buyout clause, if he starts to fade you have an option. The numbers fade as the years pass on the contract.

That's not to say they won't already get there. Anything can happen in this short season and Oil potential is huge. Just sayin Lu basically guarantees a playoff appearance.

I'd be all for acquiring Luongo if it wasn't for his contract. Still an elite NHL goalie in my mind.

So does that mean that you can trade for his 1.5 million cap hit onto your payroll without actually acquiring him being as he is on the Ducks? Yo no entiendo.

I never said you could. We were trying to figure out what another poster was talking about.

Just a slip up, he must have been thinking of the extra 2nd. It's a fact that the Oilers only have their own 1st round pick this year.

Clouts, it all depends on how the Canucks see the oil developing - if they are not worried, it might be the only reasonable deal on the table.

I seriously would be surprised to see Arnot in Ed. Not after the fans ran him out of town. You might hear him thinking, 'it will be a hot day in January in Edmonton before I return.' You never know - there may be enough green to make it bearable.

Where will they get another center??

.....he was our 1st round pick from 2004.

We didn't give up on him at all. He wasn't needed anymore. He's a top-4 fill in. Doesn't skate well enough to be considered a true top-4 dman. Pair him with a mobile guy like Ryan Whitney who can move the puck, and Fistric will be there to cover any defense lapses....with authority.

He doesn't do it often, but he does sometimes get caught going for a big hit. To his credit, very rarely does it usually end up in his own net. Some of that is attributed to good goaltending, but it's very hard to get around this guy; if he doesn't catch part of you, he catches all of you.

You guys are gonna love him. He hits like a (frank)ing mack truck. One of those guys that when he throws checks you can almost feel it through the TV.

- mochoson

when u let go of a guy who is 26 and just emerging(like your blogger just blogged about) u gave up on him. He led your team in almost every defensive category and was top 5 in the league in hits.He doesnt have to score to be productive. The reason he was let go was his 1.5 million cap hit and the stars are looking to trim. Its a reality of the stars organization and ownership that they wont be spending top dollars anymore.

Like I have already said Fistric can play in the top 4(3/4 specifically) and matching up with n schultz is a perfect shut down pair...its more likely petry spot but fistric can play the 4 with abilities he brings to the table. Dallas gave up too soon on this guy.
- oil90

His numbers don't tell that same story.

he plays 4th spot at best, but mostly 5/6 and a bit of PK.

I do agree that he most likely gets paired with Petry on the bottom pair if Whitney is unable to regain his Top2 form.
