I want Boston so bad
No more sand kicked in the face
No more getting our books slapped outta our hands in the hallway
No more havin the bully take our lunch money - JerryKorab
Kaleta is a 4th line guy
He provides grit, for which he is one of the 5 most hated guys to play against in the league (which is a good thing IMO)
He is a decent penalty killer also - jdfitz77
I don't like Kaleta, but it has nothing to do with the line he plays on. He's a dirty player. He's like Dan Carcillo, and I hated him on the Flyers. Adds the occasional offensive bonus, and is an energy/physical guy, but he runs people high, he throws cheap shots, and can't fight all that well. He's like a poor man's Matthew Barnaby. I could do with removing guys like him (and Carcillo, and Lapierre, and Burish) fromt he league.
No we are not, you want to be right all the time and I have only OPINION'S that is it. - SABRES 89
Whatever...
I ask a question and you refuse to answer, except with some quip about how I "want to be right all the time" (btw, who ever wants to be wrong)
So I'll try again
A)what exactly would u do w our defense if U traded Myers?
B)what more do u want/expect from kaleta?
C)what 4th line guy that we have do u feel brings more to the table?
These are all reasonable ?s based on previous statements you've made
I'm not sure why U are taking such offense

Patty is more talented then most give him credit for. I'll leave it at that.

Wow, a reasonable response...
I disagree with u on him being dirty
Chippy is more accurate IMO
It's not like kaleta is out there getting suspended for elbowing guys to the head or late hits or something
I think he's more of a pest,
If I was not a sabres fan I'd prob hate him too
I can't stand Chris Neil, but I'd prob love him if he were on the sabres
I do see where you're coming from,
I just don't agree
And I'm glad we have kaleta & added another similar guy like Ott who has more talent

Kaleta is a much better player than Carcillo. Good PK player, under rated skater. Kaleta gets his fair share of cheap shots back as well. I cant count the number of times he's been boarded

Kaleta definitley deserves to be on this roster...
I\'m curious why this was allowed by the Sabres in the past, and what\'s changed. As soon as Lucic ran Miller, there should have been 5 guys that did not allow him to leave the ice without the use of a stretcher. So, let\'s say Ott is out against him (I don\'t see Scott\'s line matching up with Lucic); okay, so that\'s still 1 guy that would go after him, and as much as I like Ott, I don\'t see him whooping Lucic. If they didn\'t go after him, the other option is to take that little rat Kaleta and him have \"trip\" into Thomas\' knees...but I don\'t see why that would happen this time around.
Look, I know it\'s a change, and that the Sabres are a grittier team. I just still don\'t see them as a \"tough\" team to compete with team like Boston, Philadelphia, or even the Rangers. - jmatchett
Because he doesnt do it in the first place if Scott is dressed, simple.
Even Kevin Snow with Sylvester on Wgr550 right now just said what I have been saying about Weber.
Looks leaner/ meaner and is skating much faster. Expects Weber to be in top 6.
For what its worth , he echoed what I have been saying about Webbs. - BuffaloHardHat
I wish lindy would reunite him with Sekera
They played great together in the AHL and when they first came up,
But have been separated for the most part since
They could possibly be a great 3rd pair IMO

If he wants to stay on this team he neeeds to step up big this year.. so that is nice to hear.. - BuffaloKyle
I am still surprised that he was actually like 4th on the team in hits last season. I liked his physicality but he was prone to go completely out of position for the hit. Hopefully along with being leaner and faster, he became smarter.
Don't get me wrong.. i am cheering for everyone one of our players to improve. Who wouldn't?
I understand the Sabres have a tougher team than last year. And for a team that was considered soft, they needed to go in that direction. But past Ott and Scott (assuming he plays), there is no one on the team who I could see answering the bell and not getting murdered by a guy like Lucic. I've always been a fan of the Sabres (when I get the other team's feed; that's another story) and hope they do well when they don't play the Flyers. I just don't think that they got the right guys to be tough enough...but it's a step.
Actually, it's kind of funny you mention that. Prior to the "Bullies" years, the Flyers got pushed around by the Big Bad Bruins, and got pummeled every time they played St. Louis. After St. Louis crushed them, Ed Snider stormed into the GMs office and told them he never wanted to see the team get pushed around again...and the rest is history. So it's pretty much the same thing as Buffalo, but they took it to extremes...there's a happy medium somewhere between what the Sabres did now and the Flyers did then. - jmatchett
McCormick for one....but how many guys does one team need that can stand up to Lucic? Not many teams have more than one, maybe two anyway.

Homer is on the Scott bandwagon... I love it.
Scott is not a hockey player.. he will not play more than 3 minutes a game. He sits on the end of the bench and watches. When someone takes a cheap shot or the team needs an emotional boost... Scott enters the ice and punches someones head off.
It might take a few games but teams will learn that you can't mess with our guys any more. Scott won't suit up every game but I do assume he is one the ice against Toronto, Boston, Philly, Montreal, NJD, and NYR. Car, NYI, OTT, PITT, TBL, FLA, WSH, and WPG he will probably sit and McCormick, Kaleta, and Ott will take out the trash.
